Ok, I understand. It was actually what i had in mind. If problems arise thouh, who knows, maybe merchants will take to organising their own regiments if the situation in the country gets bad. It will be only to support the crown though...

E: WOOT! I finally made my first 10d! Soon enough I will have guild (if Erik agrees to support me)!

Wait, can't merchants hire mercenary companies and have their own ships? Surely SCTG has some muscle and I think that once guilds get up and running, there will be an actual need for some private soldiers to protect the stores, assets and convoys. Obviously, its all up to the ruling powers whether merchants can have soldiers under their control, but I don't think that hiring regiment of light infantry to be split and sent all over the country to act as corporate security is that scary?

Jeez, I'm kinda all over the place today. Soryy for the problem. I will sell them then at that price and do more trade while waiting for the audience reply.

Sell the Clams at that price and send ships to Aching. Load 2 loads of livestock there and send ships to Vasir again.

Ok, explain to me, I made just 0.75d? And I'm on 5.4 d, despite the fact that I had 6 before I did the trade? Shouldn't I have 6.75 then?

Yeah. You did the roll, alright, but you missed the part where Iituem did a roll for me and gave clams a price of 0.3d. You started off from the base price.

You see, you got more than enough on your plate instead of worrying about me or CG.

Yeah, you and what army? From what I know, most of the royal troops are on a permament leave 6 feet under the miring.

Well, its not up to you, but to Erik. And having soldiers and ships will be kinda necessary for me, since there are raiders and pirates everywhere.

You can't start stabbing people if you don't know what are they up to. besides, I pledged my services to the king, so I just need to see what will be Erik's reaction to it.

Its always maim, kill and burn with you, isn't it Taricus?

E: I think you guys are over-reacting, just as it was the case with the romance bluff. We don't have manufacturing plants and we don't use fiat money and monarchs are absolute in power, without any constitution to protect the merchants, save for banding into guilds and buying mercs.

And here is an example of a monarch squashing a medieval corporation

Jeez, thats how it happened in history with Hanseatic League and Venice. And you have SCTG to boot. Its up to you lot and Erik to make sure everything is ok, instead of lamenting over merchant power. Institute taxes, institute laws or make friends with merchants and use them to help your economies grow. But don't expect me or CG to roll over and let you lot have your way.

As far as i see it, there is nothing "broken". he simply means that he cracked the system and devised a way for selling high and buying low in the best places and with minimising of the risks tthat the dice provide.
As such, even with the worst of rolls, he is still able to squeeze a marginal profit that makes the trade worth it.
