Ok. I sent the instruction for two boatloads of clams from suul to be shipped to Vasir. Iituem did a preliminary roll and gave me 0.3d per tonne, he just didn't do the rest since my instruction came after that. here is the link to this roll.

Sorry if I seem pushy, but I was reffering to my trade ships in Suul, that were ordered to do some trading. It was at the same time as the audience request.
But I get that we are somewhat disorganised, so I'm willing to wait patiently. And don't worry about the audience post. take your time and sort out the situation with others(no sarcasm here).

Because he is a commoner. Commoners can't hold land or raise troops, unless you are talking about paid mercenary force.

And that is why Erik needs me. I offered myself to be the economic vanguard of the kingdom, and if my offer is accepted then it won't be so bad for Elbreth.

Well then, something must have gotten amiss, since my orders have been ignored. I'm getting used to this though, but i'm not going anywhere since I can't make enough money for a guild.

Success breeds jealousy.
But enough about that, I sent my orders too a couple of pages ago, but they were apparently ignored, as no one botherd to answer my question about remote control of trade and ships. Also, Cyber is quite right, if you make the right trade and the right rolls, you can easily make 30d in a year or even more, since the total valuse of all allowance in trade centres is 100d.
Automating the process would be nice since it apparently bothers everyone (including me), but I'm a merchant, and if I don't do trade then my range of abilities and opportunities does not go far.

Well, all that automation that's been talked about so much and the guilds will simplify trade and make it yield steady income. The more routes your guild has and more counting houses, the greater the yearly income. Its really a way for a commoner to gain status without being able to hold any land or titles. I am really poor at the maths or coding it myself. I rather enjoy the macroeconomics and the social/political side of it all much more, since I'm studying it for a degree right now.

Well, you started off with a seadog kinda person and worked your way there. I admit, thaty was before me. But the actual trading rules, goods and credit started aftere I started the first trade.

Oh god, its like playing Patrician 4 all over again. Its a good game though, played it over last couple of days to get into character (Hans). And let me tell you, automated convoys was the missing element in here.

I want to apologise for the entire trading mess that started with me, it just seemed likea great idea and a vital part of the medieval politics. Just getting down and dirty with the actual goods shipping and coin counting was never in my plan though. Just for the sake of balance though, I just hope that the automated trade routes won't make too much money. It would be silly to see erik running at his usual income of 15-25d and me or CG at a 100 or god knows how much more if we unite into a supercorp. but the trade allowance of each city kinda takes care of it, doesn't it?

Hey, it don't matter who the queen is, we are fairly open-minded in here (or so I think). As long as everything is played decently, i got no problem with it.

BTW, I think that the actual pace will pick up when Iituem will be back.

"Your Majesty, it is an honor to speak to you."
Hans took of his hat and bowed, paying attention to all courtly etiquette that he knew of. He did not know how lords or princes behave among their peers, but Hans was just merchant, a low-born. But that did not mean that he didn't have a head on his neck, and he was about to show Erik just that.

"My name is Hans van der Vreis and I am here today to present you with a proposal. But before I do that, I must warn you. His Grace, Grandmaster Black was informed by me of the danger posed by the Storm Coast Trade Guild. They came to Preston not long ago with a proposition of rebuilding the city and helping Grandmaster, but at a price of severe monopolies and extensive economic privileges. His Grace was hesitant of it, and when he heard my warning, he became outright opposed to it. The danger posed by the Guild is great, as they seek to exploit weak kindoms and establish their supremacy though trade. Once that is done, they bully kings and princes and force them to participate in wars that are of no interest but to themselves"

"Here lies my proposal, Your Majesty. I  ask of your permission and patronage in creating a guild that would be native to Elbreth, or at least supported by the Elbrethian Crown.
Apart from enriching your realm, that guild would be able to fight (through trade) with any foreign merchants that are poised on ensnaring and weakening your lands.
The guild hiowever would have to be granted an exclusive trade rights within the realm. That is, this guild would be the only one allowed to operate, and all othwrs would be forced to remove themselves or fold under the the royal guild."

With that long tirade done, Hans hoped he didn't bore the king, who seemed to be preoccupied with many things in his mind, although he paid most of the attention to the merchant.

Well well, I see that we are up and running on high gear again. Big plans afoot and all....
Erik seems to be under a lot of stress lately doesn't he? I wonder how long before he starts growing gray hair...

E: I wonder whether i can direct my trade at distance? that is sending instructions to my ships to do trade as I take care of other business? I presume that something like that should be feasible once them guilds start popping up all over the place, but is it possible at the current stage?
Because i did one trade order like that, but clams are not on the trade tables and Iituem is out. I guess it could wait, since there is some RP to be done and I have about 6d, so that's plenty for now.
