The dev goals can be read here. The plan is to have a living world in Release 5. We are currently waiting for Release 1 (although it has a lot more in it than shown there).

There's another failed 'evaluated' above this too. (This dwarf has 8½ pages of treatment...the crutch has also got one kill to its name.)

Having said that, my most recent fort has had plenty of injuries (FD mod), but a very efficient hospital overall. It seems most effective just to have lots (5+) of dwarves as full doctors, rather than just a couple of specialists.

I think that only shows if an item is assigned to the dwarf, not if it is equipped. I know I've had times where one dwarf is carrying another's assigned weapon, and then that dwarf fails carry any weapon.

I haven't tried pressurizing the water to create geysers, but the first though that comes to mind (other than the lava-landmine someone posted about :) ) is to use a water landmine in a frozen biome for some icy +fun+. ;)
I had a similar idea, but as soon as water is exposed to an 'above ground' tile it freezes. If forced up from below (via stairs or somesuch) it just creates an ice floor, blocking the outlet.

The first mechsnism asked for goes in the bridge (or whatever) and the second in the lever. This is useful to remember if you're working with magma and need things to be magma-safe.

The yellow rectangle will be the layer so try Layer►Layer to Image Size.

I do adore GIMP, but yeah, it seems like although there might be an easier way to do something, you're only allowed to find out how by accident.

Ok, I managed to move the part of the image now, but now I can't draw outside a yellow rectangle. How to do deselect the image?
Select►None.
