Charity cools down a bit and sighs once more. "You're right of course, Isos. He's not done anything to anypony here, yet, that we know of, but, that isn't my point. I'm not saying we need to kill him, or send him away. Frankly he's proven to be useful in fighting our enemies at the least, and I'd rather see him on our side than against. All I'm saying is that we need to keep an eye on him, and we can't trust him with any information that is too important to the safety of Glitteglen."

'She is such a foal, not the pony she used to be, I shouldn't have invited her to this.'

Charity waits for Friesden to leave, "Now that that's out of the way," she turns to Captain Isos, "Isos, what do you think of all this?"

Cryptson looks directly at Friesden. "Never harm anypony? Tell that to those thieves he tortured to death. I saw him do it. They might have been Diomedians, they might have deserved death and I would have given it to them as well, but torture isn't the Pony Way. It's not what the Book of the Sister's teaches us. Your brother is not so harmless as you think."

Chairty's confusion fades and is replaced with genuine concern

'if his mind is being tampered with, magically, he could be being used by the enemy without him even knowing it. That's easily within the capabilities of the Tentacle or Dark Royal Diomedians.'

"A false memory? Some sort of, magic tampering with his mind? Khenal, what happened?"

Cryptson sits down a look of quite confusion on his face, Charity's face however gives off a confuseing mix of shock and anger. "You mean you already knew! Did ALL of you know that Heiro was a Diomedian?" She looks around the table at each pony in turn.

"Good everpony is here now. Now as you might have suspected from the letters, I have something unpleasant to talk to all of you about. However I find that bad news is better handled on full stomach, please everypony help yourself to whatever looks good to you, and we can get down to business after lunch."

Charity helps herself to a heaping plateful of food and attempts to make small talk with the gathered individuals.

"Commander Starkey, Captain Otik, a pleasure to see you." Charity gestures towards some places reserved for them by the table. The room itself has stone walls engraved with many detailed images, the tables and chairs are all made of masterfully worked stone, and sitting on the far side of the room from the door sit two magnificent clear glass statues decorated with Indigo gems. One statue depicts the founding of Glitterglen and the other Charity rising to power.

On the table is laid out a wonderful feast featuring Diomedian sausages, and roasts, glazed forgotten beast eye, along with some of the last of the prepared zebra meat in all of the fort, along with a few golden apple and tallow based desserts.
