15-z level execution towers are very nicely suited to doing this. (splat!)
Once a goblins arm flew 9 z-levels up, out of the pit! (I have a 15 z-level tower and 9 z-level pit)

And then we mod out kittens and out kittens and put in PETA members.
Secondly, I'd just create an "all-handicapped" army. Sun Tzu says that every attack can have a use. They are perfect distractions.

Perhaps you're thinking in the wrong direction, instead of getting up there, perhaps he got down there by falling?
Possibly. The wall is near a draw bridge, but that seems improbable. I still need to know how to get him down.
Breaking news! It appears the second miner went berserk, immediatley killed two dogs, and then chased the other residents of Fireplane.
Many more casualties will ensue.
EDIT: This just in! It appears that a surviving SIX out of the fifty dwarves have escaped and sealed the fortress and are now holed up outside with no food or ale.
Among them are:
The expidition leader.
Several "Brown" class dwarves.
And my favorite dwarf.

I'd go with a british accent for the Elves. Get someone pompous-sounding.Also, the dwarves should be voiced by Scots, the humans by Americans, the goblins by Germans, and the elves by valley girls.
I dunno, I think we should have a British accent for the goblins too. Just more sordid.

Because he survived, or because the injuries were too mild?
One of my axedorfs ran headfirst into a goblin ambush. Though he valiantly rescued the engraver for whom the ambush was set, he ended up breaking all four of his limbs, two in several places, one with the motor nerve severed. He then dragged himself to the hospital, and after getting infections in most of his limbs DESPITE the mountains of soap I had made (fortunately, he was super-disease-resistant), was slowly repaired by the medical team over about a year and a season. One of whom cut an artery during surgery.
He ended up with four pages of medical reports. But he can still wield an axe again, so it's back to the militia with him!
Dunno if it counts for anything if the dorf didn't die, but i had my miner get severely injured from a fall caused by a cave-in. Along with broken legs and all that jazz, his skull also got shattered completely, so he was INSANELY close to dying instantly. He managed to drag himself out of the 5/7 lake (despite falling unconscious several times), dig himself out of a dead end, and finally waddle through half the map to the hospital, where he made an amazingly fast total recovery. He even went so far as to get out of bed and start mining again with his skull still broken. Rasputin would be proud!
