You didn't notice the crickets when you came in? They had been here for a while now.

The only difference is that while magma filling the fortress causes Fun, Fun causes the fortress to fill with blood.

Far-away mountain in the middle of a forest, exact location unknown

He stood almost two and a half meters tall, more than enough to see over the fortifications at the top of the tower. He had been scanning the horizon for some time now. He enjoyed it, simply watching the world, and the silence. Almost as much as he did killing. As he heard steps from the stairs leading up to the tower he wagered a guess that the peace wouldn't last long, soon he would be needed somewhere. By the time the hatch in the floor creacked open, he had made four different guesses as to the reason for the disturbance.
"M- Master Horrigan?"
"Yes?"
"I- I have some bad news."
Naturally. As Horrigan turned to face him, he noticed that the messenger was shivering with fear.
"Spit it out."
"Th- th- the cave outpost... it- it has been wiped out."
All four wrong. This was surprising at the least.
"P- please forgive me, master."
"You were not present at the time?"
"N- no, sir."
"Then you have nothng to fear."
The messenger was visibly relieved.
"What happened?"
"It- it would appear that the operatives killed each other. No indication as to why."
"Killed... each other? No reason?"
"Yes, master."
Horrigan turned to look out over the forest again. Operatives killing one another for no apparent reason... This was more welcome news than the messenger had believed it to be.
"Thank you. You may go."
The messenger quickly left.
This was
indeed welcome news.

About ready to throw in the towel...

I can't stand it anymore really...

I think that's what's driving me mad...

I can practically feel Aussie smiling.

I need people to advance the in-story time so Oliolli can actually reach the fort... again. He's currently stuck in stasis some distance from the fort.

Not going to run into the titan on your journey back?

Nah, I'll save that one for another occasion. Good minibosses are hard to come by.

The word for 'win' is 'checkerboard'.

(3)  Celsius and Kelvin are fine in the lab, but terrible for describing temperature for human habitation.  In Farenheit: 0 is too cold to go outside, and 100 is too hot to go outside.

Kelvin yeah, but Celsius? How is it terrible for describing temperature for human habitation? 0 is the freezing point of water (you'll know when it snows), 5 is chilly, 15 is fine, 20 is warm, 30 is hot.

Oh, and 0 Fahrenheit is not too cold to go outside. -40 Fahrenheit? Close. But then again, -40 F = -40 C.

100 F is not too hot to go outside, but close.

If you really want a terrible temperature scale, use Rankine. That scale shouldn't be used anywhere outside... outside... I don't know, a hipster's thermometer?

...except when you stop to think and realize it makes more sense than Fahrenheit...

And what Putnam said.

I wish the imperial system was at least consistent country-to-country and internally (16 ounces to the pound and 14 pounds to the stone? Why not the same number? 12 inches to the foot, 3 feet to the yard, 22 yards to the chain, 10 chains to the furlong, 8 furlongs to the mile. They didn't use the same number twice in that! And given that furlongs and chains aren't really used any more, you end up with 12 inches to the foot, 3 feet to the yard, 1760 yards to the mile, which isn't exactly nice to remember and no more consistent).

1000 milligrams to the gram, 1000 grams to the kilogram, 1000 kilograms to the metric ton (megagram).
1000 millilitres to the litre, 1000 litres to the kilolitre, 1000 kilolitres to the megalitre.
1000 millimeters to the meter, 1000 meters to the kilometer, 1000 kilometers to the megameter.

Any arguments why a country would NOT use a system like that?

Seriously, the imperial system is just... just...

Someone give me an adjective here...

And those were only part of the prefixes you can use.

Gimme a sec... Karl Marx Gave The Proletariat Eleven Zeppelins, Yo

Got the Normandy achievement  :-[
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

HAHAHA!

Yeah I got that one too.   :-[
I also got that one. :(
It was fairly easy to get... :-[

I'm pretty sure anyone who knows about WW2 from the USA's perspective gets what the achievement means.
If it required deconstructing an entire dungeon floor, it could still be "Normandy", although now from the French perspective  :P

What you probably meant was "...who knows about D-Day from the marine's perspective..."

Replace D-Day with Omaha Beach if you wish.

Sure, the US lost a lot of similarly equipped people duiring Overlord. But so did the British and Germans.

The Soviets lost a lot of similarly equipped people during WWII.

Just that Omaha Beach is what most people think of when "Normandy" is mentioned. And, well, 'First floor', just entering -> D-Day.

...master difficulty isn't the way most people are going to play the game.

Hell, i've been through on master and can tell you that.

Any experienced players will play on noting short of master.

I've been through on master, with no HUD and a ridiculously low brightness, and can tell you that  ;)

Pah, its fun but I like being able to run through the games without having to save before every anomaly field sometimes. Therefore, I don't run through on master.

There is an in game indicator for anomaly fields.
You start hearing beeps whenever you are close to one, you can also throw bolts to detect them. I don't know about you but in master difficulty, I only saved every session/half hour. No saving between.

I may be wrong, but I think that beeping and/or the geiger are somehow linked to having a HUD. When I play without one, I only get the beeping and crackling when I open my inventory, which also brings up the mini-map and such. (CoP at least)

As for running through anomaly fields, that's what the Svarog is for.

You weren't at 100% after Swordthunders. You came close, but as attrition kicked in, you started going downwards.

But alright, no such thing as 100%. Just make sure not to cause a buffer overflow, don't want your win to roll over to -65536  :P

614
As Oliolli walked in the direction in which he figured the fort would be, he couldn't help but feel something was off: he still had four limbs.

615
But Aussie was already at 100% win. How can you still give him +10 win? O_o
