I embarked on one, fed it 7-8 embarks worth of dorfs, 4 of those were warriors. I was well and truly trounced again and again. The necromancer was titled "Bass Necromancer". Now whether he was in a metal band or had a perchance for fish i don't know...
From what I know, it appears only the best necromancers can perform necromancy as a full time job. His apprentices have to do side-jobs to make money. I guess that would make working at McDonalds a bit awkward.

But when some fat american gobshite goes off his nut at you because you ran out of McNuggets you can murder them with a rabble of necro-burgers.

Because it contributes to the evil, it would be a step towards finding patterns, and it shall soon be modded to cause ingested syndromes that will cause issues with cattle.

We also need to locate rains, though it seems that freakish weather is present in all evil biomes.

Dragonheart stones will obviously require a magical effect. A passable curse? (Sets foe on fire/freezes/paralyses depending on the type of dragon?) or perhaps an artifact style quality modifier for piercing or for blocking damage. As for all of the others, wouldn't we need to fend the vogons off from their gem crabs? >.>

In world gen, whack up evil rain/mist/etc types to 100 from 26. That will make any evil biome generated to near guarantee to have a couple. Whack it up more if you want waves of evil to roll over you every season. I guess it boils down to "use more of everything evil, hope it doesn't crash"

I butchered a horse in a sinister area. Next thing I saw was my dwarves being interrupted by crawling horse hair. Hilarity ensued.
It was only mildly annoying, but slightly later the horse skin also went undead and killed everyone.

Pardon, but I never saw(ed) the original.

You must see it. The new movie is a clichéd slasher/body horror shitflick. The entire atmosphere is all "oh there's a monster we must run or it will get us!" while the original builds a tension of distrust between the crew members. It's not even comparable.
I will see our recording of the movie; as I've heard they were not comparible, but the whole point of the post was the pun.
Rather accurate, as only heat-based weapons seem to be effective against the Thing. Now if we can only figure out how to get magma throwers and heated wire-blood tests.

Nerve's - no, air-drown - YES - they require constant water flowing through their pores to survive. Google them.

I thought they were capable of some degree of dessication, especially those that live on the shore line and are subject to tides. If i'm wrong then i'm wrong.
