Since all the tower mining is done, we can swap Triaxx out of his secondary mining profession. Maybe to Masonry? Or just make him no longer a sword dwarf so he charges in with his pick.

And can we make sure that the bottom floor, the one sitting on the Magma is made out of a magma-safe material? I know that we know that Constructions are Magma-Safe, but I don't think the Dwarves know.

Sometimes Aquifers Have flow, some times they don't. Depending on how shallow your aquifer is, you might be able to Channel pump, and flow.

Essentially you dig up from below around the aquifer, until you're above it, then channel into it, and set up two or three screw pumps. These pump into a reservoir that's not over the aquifer, and then have it slowly drain through hatches, using repeaters to open/close them to let it through, down a long U shaft to drain back into the Aquifer/Off the Map. The latter helps if you've got caverns, you can just cut a stair well down into open space, and let them drain out that way. Plus it kills all the cavern monsters except FB's.

Don't forget to build pill boxes, and archery towers. A pair of pill boxes with an overlapping field of fire across a trap filled passage-way minces gobbos.

And naturally you can make it longer as it's needed. Do it that way though and your floor tile has to be a staircase.

Archer towers on the other hand, should be built one level off the ground, with a set of ramps two tiles out, and a trapped floor on the inside. With a wall protected stair case to reach the upper level.

Thus anything that closes in where the archers can't get them gets shredded by traps.

I just build thousands of buckets via a tree farming operation. Oversize atom smashers work day and night deleting buckets of water and other useless things.

Missing Magma? Not at all. See those four projections off the main room? Slap in some floor grates and walls, and you can have both Magma and Water falls. Two of each.

Unless the tiles freeze because they're exposed to air, it shouldn't be a problem.

If it's a problem, then you haven't build tall enough.

Constructed Up/Down stairs will support things. I have a hole I punched into the aquifer layers, that hangs in space because I didn't collapse both levels properly. It's currently filling my moat. Via two sets of three pumps.
