I use C# a LOT, but only on Windows, but my understanding is there exists a working open source project called "Mono" to allow portability of .net managed code.

Load excess ones into weapon traps in the dining room.

Dwarves will admire the amazing trap, and if invaders ever make it deep enough into your fort to reach the dining room...

Fortifications to block building destroyers, Windows to block bolts/arrows, but allowing sight of the kitten, which has a path to it, leading past traps...

Maybe optimize with a pressure plate/hatch combo so that if the gobbos make it past the trap the path to the kitten is invalidated...

Then refined with that plate also opening a path to a different kitten-bunker, so they end up pathung back and forth over the traps?

*'s being the pressure plates, while ^'s are weapon/cage traps. and ₵'s are hatches over pits, so when open they block the path.

I summed it up to my brother as "a mix of simcity and nethack, where I'm currently dropping kittens off this 15 story iron tower unto this floor patterned like a target, where my military recruits are training in order to desensitize them to death. It's even got a reasonable physics model, see how the kittens skull bounced up onto a higher level?"

Did the model take into account wanted 'luxury' goods? or only needed 'survival' goods?

Some trade is created by the desire for exotic goods, such as Coffee, spices, rare decorative gems, traditional handmade crafts, etc.

If the 'Nobles' in your model were only concerned with survival and efficency, and never made demands/mandates for things that arn't made locally just because they felt like it, it wouldn't match DF or Reality.

Dwarfs don't need to be soldiers to be overpowered. I have an engraver who has agility over 2700, with racial average of 900. She runs one tile per 6 ticks (when hauling goblin bodies) which is as fast as they fall down gravitationally, about twice the speed of average dwarves. She won't kill anything, but will run away from it. Soldiers can have such agility after long training, but they are usually burdened by heavy armor, so they run slightly slower.

Sounds like she reached...

If a Dwarf was brain damaged... How would you know?

but yeah, impacts to the skull with blunt weapons, or sharp weapons while wearing a hard helmet, might have some effect...

Concussed status might make the dwarf randomly forget what he was doing (flashing ? like when repathing) or somthing

Thats what I was first thinking, trying to use a genetic alogritm to breed sets of worldgen parameters until you get the best ones... problem is defining 'best'
