No seriously! So much to discover, so many places to fail utterly and miserably. Dwarf fortress has gotten 10 times better !

(They do, don't they?)

Ok, jokes aside. Forced to living with dialup.... *shudders* Poor you!
But yeah, this should definately be added on the wiki! Nice seed-find!

Hey, maybe you built a fortress on a previously abandoned fortress, and didn't notice? (Instead of choosing reclaim, you accidentally chose the exact same location as one of your previous fortresses?)
It turns out that it would never drown them like I hoped, because they can just swim...
Other constructions I've made consist mostly of removing the ramps around my entrance, making sure any approaching hostile will have to walk a slightly longer way to make it to my front gates.
Just thought it was funny.
Haha, thats alot of materials... 2 tower-cap logs, 1 Slate, 1 spider silk, 1 acadia(?), 1 Andesite.... Not worth as much the other ones mentioned here, but this is my most valuable item.
Also, in this game, you WILL fail at things, which is Fun!
Starting some fortresses just to experiment with digging, z-levels, roomdesigns, combat etc is a good way to learn the game. Make a party just to test aspects of the game. Take lots of food and alcohol, a pick, an axe, lots of seeds, and try out various actions. Build various workshops, and see what they do. draft some military, and fight some monsters. Dig some stairs, and learn how the z-axis works. Get a feel for how big rooms and hallways should be..
And.. USE THE WIKI!
Didn't realize that they just could swim, but hey, this means a carp would do the trick with the water as it is! Too bad turtles don't act like alligators/carps, cause atleast 1 or 2 of those are swimming around the village.
Or lets just hope they all catch a cold and feel miserable
That'll show those elves who's boss.. Too bad I didn't have the patience to wait for someone to drown.. Water escalating at those proportions take FOREVER!
(Oh, and ignore the "part 1" thing.. That was a typo-misunderstanding-thingy)
