DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Wow...forgive me for being slow, but

Now I imagine a "have you seen this dwarf?" Poster slapped to all the booze barrels in the fort. Similar to the "missing person" photos on milk cartons.
"Have you seen this dwarf?"
"You mean the guy that hammered a 50 pound hammer on my head?"
"The same"
*Urist McVampireSpawnHammerer pounds his lead hammer on Urist McSherrif's head*
"Well...looks like someone...just dropped the hammer!"
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

There is something I want to add to this thread:

Curse you, I just spent another hour of my life on TvTropes!!!

An hour? Gee, I wish I had that kind of self control.

They are tame. They serve as guards and cute biggie pets.

Only 8 soldiers out of 50 civilians?

I am disappoint.

You need 100 soldiers for every dwarf to survive DF. That said, no one has managed to turn one dwarf into two soldiers yet.

Yet.
Yet.
Step 1: Chop the arms off.
Step 2: Wait for Toady to release the next patch.
Step 3: Reanimate the arms.

1 dwarf = 3 soldiers.
Profit?

Edit: Or am I mistaken and !!NECROMANCY!! isn't the answer to everything?

GET'OUTTA ME LAWN OR I'LL FLING ARMS AT'YE. ARMS, I TELL YE!

Fast food joint cook? :P

Just look at the similarities!
When we don't like a dwarf, we drown him.

When we think there MAY be a possibility of doing something totally unbelieavable, we don't hesitate in sacrificing a bunch of dorfs to achieve it (or prove it's not possible still not reachable)

We exterminate EVERYONE who is not a dwarf. Those who are not exterminated live only for their mild usefullness as flux providers or whatever.

I'm waiting for the day when a megaproject will consist of making a bunch of Tiger tanks with fortifications and catapults for cannons and reconstruction for the tracks.

Every Dwarf Fortress Fort is a concentration camp, only without the nazis.

With a platinum whip you would probably sever each part you hit.
"It cauterizes the wounds with each strike. That's why they don't bleed"

Killing through burning usually means you melted the victim's fat, causing bleedling AFAIK

There was a strategy to melt your own fat while trying not to die in Adventure Mode that rendered you imune to high temperatures.

Do you remember how this strategy works? I tried it several times in adventure mode but it did not work yet.

Ok, here's what I remember. Have a companion and PLENTY of food so that you don't starve (same for water) and so that boogeymen don't come chomp on you. Light a shrub on fire. Sit on it ('s' for "On Ground") Wait until you start melting (bleeding damage). Get off the shrub and wait to heal. You have lost some fat. Repeat until there's no fat left on you. I think you also lose some natural armor, since there will be no fat cushioning blows.

Remember Urist being struken down after colliding with an obstacle.

Remember all that dwarven blood spraying on the walls.

Remember the Dwarves on the bottom cushioning the dwarves tha fall on top of them.

Did I fix it? If not, try reading it all again with elves.

Dragons and Rocs can breed if they manage to lay eggs, but I don't think that that can be done on the world in general (due to lack of nests)

164
Not really a bug... but I imagine playing the new release with genesis mod.
A VILE FORCE OF DARKNESS HAS ARRIVED!, led by a phallus.
"I hate those guys! They're such dicks!"

:D A werewolf gets into your dining hall; nobody is killed, but it manages to attack a bunch of dwarves. Next full moon, half of your fortress turns and kills the other half, but you don't get a game over because the weres are still technically members of your fort, all turn at the same time, and won't attack same-species weres. Thereafter, each wave of new migrants is briefly left to wonder why their new neighbours refer to all of them as "Urist McDinner".

And then the Loyalty Cascade begins!
