Who needs noble positions, anyway?

By the way, how does a loyalty cascade works? I haven't found anything on the wiki  :(

oooh a demonic fortress candy shop.

That's a spoiler  :P

Actually, isn't it that only creatures of sufficient size leave teeth when butchered? I guess it's a quirk in the system right now because it makes getting requested materials sort of difficult.

My last noble demanded two-legged rhino lizard horn items.
I hated killed maimed gave that guy a magma shower.

There, there.

Oh Shi-apparently this is happening now....apparently the running goblins tipped off the minotaur. What now? Do I have a chance?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Of course. I can be easily caged, and doesn't have ranged attacks.

Add a mosaic on each z-level that animates like a flipbook when you cycle down really fast. Maybe recreate the DF opening movie?
!!AWESOME!!

OK, try this.

Find a lake or an ocean, or an area you can easily fill with water.  Your objective is to carve a fortress in solid rock and then drop it into the water in such a way that the entire fort is underwater, there is no way out, and the inside is sealed from the elements, hence making it watertight.

Therefore, you will need to find a geological feature around which you can put water, or some natural "hill" inside the lake.  In any case, it goes to say you cannot use constructions at all, or else they'll disintegrate once you collapse the whole thing.

Its easier to dig on a temperate area with a river.

7-dwarf hermit challenge. Accept only the seven starting dwarves and their offspring. No migrants at all.

The hermit challenge consists of allowing only ONE of the starting seven :P

Snow white would probably step on a cage trap and be used as a guinea pig on some !!SCIENCE!! project.

Isn't seppuku real fast? De-militarize and set a room as a burrow. By the way, that room has the ceiling held only by one support.

If you really really liked that pond, you can always order dorfs to refill it :)

You can always dig real deep. Theres bound to be at least one flooded cave(or a cave with a river).

On topic: Because its a game. I loved to blast grunts into juicy gibs in Quake, and to melt seargents with missile launchers on Doom, but I would probably not do the same in real life.

So basicaly its cool do drop an elf down a 30-Z shaft leading to a cave full of crocodiles, but elves don't exist in real life1 and its okay just because it is a composition of ones and zeroes :P

1: Or at least that's what they want us to think.

Nothing? HA! Then I'll make dwarven ninjas!! Theres the kitteh, just minding its own business. So the goblin comes along to turn the kitten into nothingness and OH MY GOD a black clothed dwarf (legendary dodging, fighting and swordsdwarfship, mind that) with a steel short sword pops out. Then its goblin nothingness :D
