That came with 0.40's emotion update.

When one civilian dwarf is attacked, the others will start feeling vengeful and then they dogpile the creature. That's even worse if the hostile *kills* a dwarf.

Last version i lost about twenty civilians to a FB who killed my military. They just went No Job and leeroy'd at it.

You are kinda supposed to turtle in evil reanimating regions. Else you don't survive.

Or you could try to build pit traps... they're relatively quick to do.

There's a scroll in my fort made of bogeyman parchment. That's very likely a bug, but given how bogeymen vanish on dying this seems like a most awful story about some badass skinning one of them alive.

I am kinda making a monastery as well. There will be no tavern, no idlers as far as I can (hard to do), lots of libraries and religious scriptures.

As for dwarven monks, I see them ala European style warrior monk, but more focused on craftsdwarfship than military. Although I've been thinking of giving my military dwarves no weapons and just engage goblins in pankration. Well, *armored* pankration.

It appears to be a tropical biome so we should have those.

Fortress Defense is supported again ? Yay !

I suppose it should work with 0.42 right ? The creature raws don't have been changed too much and I doubt the lack of instruments is going to affect sieging civs.

Can I use your Modest Mod creature raw modifications as a basis for a creature mod of mine ? I like what you have done with the creature raws, and generally do similar stuff in my creature raws. I will of course give all credit where it's due.

I know you're probably super busy preparing a release for this version, but I thought I'd ask any way if it would be at all possible to make a fix that makes at least cage traps only buildable with metal components. The things are OP to the point where it would be pointless to use anything else. At least this way cage traps would take more resources than with the near infinite supply of surface wood, and make traps more of a mid-game option.

Also, the idea a Dragon can be contained in a wood cage just boggles my brain meat.

You can simply choose to build them scarcely ?

Since I went from 42.02 to 42.03, one of my scholars went novice instead of dabbling. Still ultra-slow, and the only writing done in my library has been done by the scribe due to copying books bought from the caravan.

Did you cave-in something in the water ? The only time i see a dusting of *insert stone name here* is in the general direction of a cave-in.

Well that military armor bug was making military undoable, so that's good. (Hopefully I can still magma trap my way through the enemies)

Also i will test it right now to see if the librarians now produce scrolls !

Well, I was finishing my magma trap and then the goblins gently sieged just right now. I say "time for live testing !"

Then I realize that my magma trap wasn't even supplied in magma after closing the gates :P That was solved easily, but still derp.



I wonder how it is like to suddenly be locked in a dark room with no light and no visible escape, then when light finally comes it is magma ? And when it reaches your only company it burns them alive and they scream in terror and pain, and surrounds you slowly, promising you an awful death ? I really wonder how it feels.

Please tell me how you feel about it before you burn alive, goblin girl.

I wonder why you goblins stopped moving when the magma claimed half your number ? Must be acceptance of their grim fate.

...Huh. I don't remember magma traps making me feel so philosophical. The bouts of supervillain-like cackling is normal, I think, but philosophical ponderings ? This is new.
