Right now I have a bunch of tantruming children who are embarrassed to have no shoes (or other clothes for that matter)...including one of them getting a mood and making an artifact floodgate from dwarf bones...

This is absolutely brilliant! However, I get a lot of "unknowns", particularly the jobs. I was researching a vampire dwarf who became the mayor of my fortress and there are many "in 169 Urist McVampiremayor became a UNKNOWN JOB in Yourfortressname" and such. This is same not only to my dwarfs of course but pretty much all figures.

On as site note...DF always stated by "Dump XML" that it's (incomplete). Dunno if that matters.


EDIT: Yeeeaaah......the "read the first post" rule is for a reason I guess...now I know that reason ;)

Thanks for the parameters, but ‼SCIENCE‼ on the subject seems to show that these glitches cannot be reproduced from the parameters.  They are caused by a glitch during world-gen, and are for the most part impossible to reliably reproduce.

Indeed, thought so. It was loads of fun nonetheless :D

By Armok and all else that is holy... This is epicness... Skymagma? This is an incredible find. In the last one, the person couldn't mine the spire without the game crashing... Can you mine your spire? Also, did your dwarves die? :\ cause that would ruin the previous question. And one final question - what biome?
Most probably they would die and the magma would cover whole of the map, but the game is totally unresponsive with that much magma falling from the sky (1fps after unpause, but probably less ;p), so I had to abandon the embark...
Biome is some mountain and some temperate grassland...

I've read in some topic before that someone had an adamantine spire on embark...same story, very bad lag when generating the embark, "section of the cavern collapsed"...

...but in addition to the splendorous adamantine spire I also have plenty of sky magma and some semi-molten rock as a bonus which reaches the top of the spire!
Of course it all started falling on my embark as soon as it generated...

Anyone fancy the worldgen parameters? Didn't try to generate the world again, so no idea whether it'll produce the same wonders...

Also all kids are seen as pressers.

Actually i like assigning labors for kids, as my immigration waves mostly consist of children. :D
For me all kids are beekeepers ;)

Great start nonetheless, I really missed DT in the new version.

Regarding missing dorfs it all seems to work fine, but whenever I have some "missing" (that I know their dead, killed by a berserk yak) bodies and I build a body stockpile my haulers go straight towards the "missing" dwarf bodies even though they were not found.
Was that reported as a bug (feature?) anywhere?

I haven't played adv mode much, and I know only the basics of getting around. But, my question is...how to find a vampire in town?
I got a quest to kill one, I have the name and I'm on the spot where the quest leads me, a place with several abandoned shops...but no one by that name is present in the area. A secret identity (?), but how to tell who's a vampire?

Y'all who are having crashes when talking to people are probably experiencing this bug. It is not related to Phoebus' tileset.

Correct bug, but I'm not sure whether it's completely unrelated. I played a bit before Phoebus released his latest version and it worked fine [EDIT:it worked fine on the SECOND wordgen, I now realized I played the adventurer on the second world i genned] in both fortress and adventurer mode. However, I downloaded the Phoebus' pre-packaged version and after the first worldgen (until year 250) the game crashed after greeting to the first guy in adv mode much like the bug says.
Then I made world 2, and interrupted the worldgen at year 151, started an adventurer and no crash when talking...it seems to affect either only the first generated world or worlds that reach the year limit during generating....

Is it just me or is DF slower than the previous version?
World gen seems to take at least twice as long, as does site finder.
This is at 2.66 GHz

Yes it is, at least the worldgen, because there's more stuff going on...
