Milenas was leaning against a wall in the back of the room, cleaning his nails with a dagger. He was somewhat surprised at who had stepped forwards already. He'd see what he could get offered by the clan lord who lived near him. Besides, there were other avenues available, plenty of which would give him sizeable amounts of power.

For now Milenas just lurked and watched.

Name: Milenas 'Tree-Feller' Dahlsline.
Gender: Male.
Race: Human
Appearance: Of middling height, and a wiry build. Milenas possesses blue eyes and a prominent sloped nose. His eyes are slightly mismatched in color, giving a small sense that something isn't right, when you're speaking to him from close.  His hair is a somewhat shaggy mane, extending down past his shoulders.
He always has an axe strapped to his back.

Bio: Milenas was the 3rd of 3 sons, and was never expected to rise to prominence in his clan. He spent much of his time learning arts that would enable him to support whichever of his brothers took the seat of power. Unfortunately for his brothers, he was approached in his youth by a priest of the Barrow Gods. Milenas was intrigued by the power that was offered, and saw an opportunity to bring his clan great power. Awakening his long dormant ambition, Milenas gave his blessing to the murder of one of his brothers (a bad hunt), and assisted in the murder of the second (poisoning). This has catapulted him forward, to seize the place of Clan Leader, after his father died of 'Grief'.
Fortune continued to favor him, when rather than an inquisition into the sudden deaths of his brothers, a messenger from the capital came bearing news of the death of the King. Milenas now stands poised to make a bid for kingship, or at the very least enough power to push the agenda of the Barrows worshippers.

Skills: Clan Leader, Axe Mastery (Lvl 1), Logistics (Lvl 1)

For Clan leaders:
Clan name: The Ahbilcan, or Sea-Guard, Plainsmen, Low-dwellers (Derogatory), Dirtgrubbers (Derogatory).

Clan history: The hills that are now known as the Hills of Ba'dur, were once a rocky storm-lashed island that the High Kin used as a staging point to launch themselves into the mainland. As a strategic move, one of the great High Kin mages caused land to rise from the sea and form a great and vast plain around the island. The thralls of the High Kin settled here in abundance, raising many sons for soldiers and laborers.

Clan location: Lush green hills, and sloping meadows feasted upon by local sheep and cattle. The lowlands around the hills are a series of small villages, and many farms. The town around Buckkeep is fairly well established, for the area, with most other cities being somewhat simple and rustic. Infrastructure is somewhat unheard of in the area with the exception of Bucktown, which only has paved streets, above most of its fellow 'cities'.

Clan culture: The culture of the Sea-Guard is one handed down for generations after the coming of the High Kin. They value family and prize how many children they have, though sons are always talked about more. They are pretty easy going, loving their work and laboring in quiet contentment. As a people they are incredibly slow to anger, and almost always shrug off attempts to rile them. History however has shown several points where rioting by the Sea-Guard has led to serious issues across the plains they call home. But afterwards the people settle down and rebuild what was lost without complaint.
The Sea-Guard are an incredible superstitious folk, and man several watchtowers along the coast though they generally will not travel by sea. They speak in whispers of a growing dark across the waves, and the need for vigilance.

They breed stalwart and steady men and women, who are prone to solidity in their ways and beliefs. Though they are begrudged somewhat for their lack of universal interest in hunting, or fighting, they will still do those things for good reason.
Glory is ephemeral, and fades. A good solid house will serve you, and those who come after you.

Clan religion: High Gods, though their lord now follows a darker path in secret.
Clan banner: A leaping buck emerging from a black forest on a field of green.

Isinath reined in his Nightmare, and surveyed the group of gravehaunts. Only twenty, but not under the dominion of anyone from the Tower. He cleared his throat and addressed them, they might even answer him.

"What are you doing?"

Senator Astralis rose, to speak.

"My fellow senators. I too must voice my opinion in favor of this bill to prevent unjust dismissal of governors mid term. Many a calamitous event may arise in the future of the Hadrian provinces, and it should be most fitting to judge a Governor on all that has occurred within the time of their post. No half measures, which could be misinterpreted.
----------
As far as the proposed bill to enable wise senators to be able to call the Senate for deliberation, I am fully in favor. Yes, it could be used to silence naysayers and pass bills into law, but it will also give us many more chances to react swiftly to events that need the Senates wisdom and clarity. We must not allow our decision making to stagnate. Otherwise barbarians will take advantage of our weakness to strike while we muse and deliberate. Or while our hands are tied since the Senate cannot be called."

Derahoc took a brief pause here. War would be the next topic he addressed. A deep breath and he started to speak.

"And now we come to the proposed declaration of war. I urge caution. The Republic of Kaladur came to us with diplomatic offers. They wish to be our friends, and you propose we invade them to add them to our dominion. What of the Union of Salressa? Will they stand idly by and allow us to grow in strength yet further? What of the Kingdom of Aramos? This is another weak nation, desperate for aid. But your proposal would condemn them to possible destruction.

This course of action while invariably successful, will give us one rebellious province, and one that may not be as loyal as we wish. But what occurs afterwards? The Union of Salressa will not trust us at all. Already they clamor for the freedom of Whitepeak. Destroying their aggressors in the north may give them freedom to strike at us alongside others who would dare to threaten our glory. And in the south, Aramos will be devoured without our aid. Ancarus is rumored to have a mighty army, do we dare to give them time and fresh strength? Their sentiment towards is is ill indeed, they will march to give themselves strength to break us.

I propose we leave Kaladur to its devices. It is friendly enough with us. And in the event it succeeds in its war, we either have a stronger ally, or an enemy we can use Salressian troops against. Plan for the future, and who we will conquer next. We must in all wisdom march south."

"I should go and tell Max what I discovered. I will take 15 of the Draugr with me for safety. I am sure between you two, and 37 Draugr, the wight lord, and the skeletal minions you both have, the Golem should be no threat.

Its not as though I can assist much further. And I need to make sure Max is alright."

Isinath loads up with 5 weeks of food, 15 Draugr and his Nightmare, Pretty, and rides off to Max's village

Derahoc enjoyed the parade, even though for the most part it was the Emperor's glory. Still, his own name was being spoken of in connection to this great victory. It did not appear that anyone aside from him was concerned that Hadrian troops were no longer a strong presence in their newly conquered provinces, but he could only do so much about that.

It was an excellent campaign, and soon he would be have a governorship. Or perhaps he would be requested to lead another legion for the Emperor. Regardless, Derahoc Astralia was certain that things were going to go well for him in the future.

Raise up a PG regiment and march it immediately off to the cities of Armascum, and the place where Clypem will be rebuilt. In order to ensure that the rule of Hadria is not forgotten until such time as a governor can be appointed.

In addition, generic speech(no creativity today!) lauding the Emperor's fantastic military victory, and the expansion of the Hadrian empire during/after the parade.

Derahoc cursed the misfortune that caused a fire to break out. The Empire had to be seen getting into action.

"Get me a bucket line! Lets douse these flames before they spread!"

Legio III assists in putting out the fire. After, normal police work, no man of the 3rd Legion is to be caught looting, pillaging or harming the new people of the Empire

"The information I have is not pressing. Max is in no danger as far as I am aware. So let us track down these zombies and put them to better use."

Isinath (with Anthony's help?) goes to find the zombies in the swamp near the tower, and use magic to ensnare them.

567
"Quite. Would you help me find them? I could use your skeletons to keep the zombies occupied and give me time to ensnare them magically. I can understand if you'd rather spend time in the library. I'll just ask Odahviing."

Isinath frowns slightly
"Of course, I also have to go tell Max what I discovered about those graves."

568
Isinath scratched his head in contemplation.

"Risky... And I don't think I am the best person to support you on this. My talents and inclinations lie in the field of Blood magic. Its just a skeleton. However I could assist you if I could seize control of those zombies out in the swamp.. The ones that attacked Odahviing. I could use them to distract the Golem while you try to seize control of it. Just a matter of finding them.

We should get Odahviing to help as well, when the time comes. Since his aid will give us another chance to capture it."

569
"The one in the Catacombs? Yes. I'm aware of it. Why do you ask?"

"They moved already to defend themselves from our 'aggression'. They would likely require conditions that would weaken loyal Hadrian governors. Or simply block their placement. No, The time for diplomacy has passed. They chose their allies in fear, rather than come to us as friends. Hadrian banners shall fly over these cities. And in time they will see themselves as Hadrian citizens."
