Backstory: As a child, Soren had the enormous misfortune of having his hometown burnt to a cinder by a rampaging, likely bored, Chaos magician. Soren has since had a unique talent/curse: "luck" behaves oddly around him. Seemingly-random events conspire to grant him advantage, it seems, allowing his "skill" as a professional gambler to develop.

We would conserve a lot of resources making dirt houses, but I think we should make houses out of planks and bricks, as that would make it more impressive looking to potential merchants or immigrants. I think some possible inhabitants or workers might objects to houses made of dirt.
