The game won't let me make a VS because Apparently you're not allowed to make characters of all 3 factions and I made characters from the other two T_T What do?

If you get the jump on someone you should probably either Shotgun him, or knife him. Rifles really are meant for long range engagements and severely underpreform in close quarters. Or you can take a 10 mm pistol and use its alt fire. From my shooting range tests it seems to instagib infantry if you can land all the shots. Of course you only get one chance and it drains all your stamina for some reason.
If you're not too good at shooty bits you can always cert into medic and/or engineer and support other people.
Also if the guy was in a huge bulky armor suit that was a MAX and it basically gives one guy a vehicles armor pool and access to an energy shield so yeah, one rifle clip is just gonna make him feel a bit ticklish.
In your factions sanctuary, look for the training building and play around in VR for a bit.

Oh, I'm TR I guess then? The red guys who always seem to be undermanned.
Gave up my heavy armor for medic certs. I'm kind of bad in one on one fights but for medium range squad work its decent. Plus I move faster.

I got on as TC because they had abysmally low player count, tooled around taking two bases with no resistance, quit due to boredom.

well, planetside 1 went FTP, and its requirements are low enough that anyone that can run this can probably run it.

Supposedly the servers are nearly empty because of course Sony neglected to really tell anyone they made it free. I might give it a go while PSO is down though.

If they're the ones that hosted that private blue burst server one of their admins probably banned me when I tried to tell the rest what he did and extract assurances that it wouldn't happen again. They declined, and stated that no admin would do that, so there was no way it would happen anyway. I was probably quietly banned shorty after, which I wouldn't have noticed because I immediately left and never looked back.

Crash on the latest experimental (0.A-1637) when going to food crafting menu on a brand new survivalist character.
