I didnt join F@W with advantages, i had giant RAGING disadvantages - y'know like an inability to own land. Had no one paid for my services i'd have been dead in a turn. So nice try there!

At this point Sheb, you're 1 against 2.5 actual players. 2 if phantom just sits idle. We have your tech starting next turn, you cant make any progress against your own defensive tech. You don't have the income to fight us both. Even if you burned your entire income into Viral weapons, you'd kill yourself faster than us.

Frankly, just let USEC write up aliens glassing the planet. It would be quicker for everyone, otherwise we get to spend a few weeks dancing on your grave - while you attempt to con everyone else BACK onto your side.

We've actually both run games Sheb - our last one went 6 months. The complaint isnt the length of time between turns, its the adding more players making it take longer

No, you didnt ask for them to join - they just always mysteriously do. Complaint with Murry is less his joining, more his 'invisible' joining. What, does he start with Stealth tech? Cloaking fields? Magic leaves that hide his colonies from ORBITAL SPACE STATIONS?!

Losing the game is fun, losing to made up rulings midway through is not.

Merry Christmas to anyone that believes in Zombie Jesus, and merry winter solstice-esque holiday time to the rest of us pagan, non-christian, heathens

I had damn good reason to complain about your joining, but seeing as player opinion seems to mean little in that regard - you got to stay. Your joining, as Tere said, only prolonged a game that was over when you appeared. Had you remained neutral and gron stronger - YOU could have dictated the end of the game. Instead you VERY quickly turned on us, being the currently winning side, forcing us to fight you as well.

Who else was i supposed to complain about joining? The rest of the people who were there since day 1? You can be butthurt all you want about my attitude toward your joining the game - it doesn't reflect anything personally about either of us. I also called bull on Shebs game of espionage readding 2 dead players to the game. So get over yourself, seriously. I have an issue with a player joining a nearly ended game, simply to prolong the game. The fact it was you had nothing to do with it, so stop acting like a child about it. Who joined wasnt the issue, it was the concept of giving a FREE advantage to the losing side of a fight we WORKED for.

Yes, i paid you for tech. If you honestly thought i wouldn't share it with an ally, you're an idiot. We knew from the moment you joined there was ZERO chance you'd actually side with us. Our best hope was you'd remain neutral for at least a couple of turns longer, simply to prevent your tech from finding a way into Sheb's hands.  Your fluff was meaningless and you sided with Sheb long before anything came to light about the actual alliance between myself and Terenos. At that point in time we were simply trading techs - not even named ones.

Phantom, Sheb isn't 'nicer' than anyone here. I watched, as a neutral mercenary player in F@W, as he diplomatically created an entire alliance simply fom empty promises and vague threats of death. Tari can attest to the conduct of sheb's niceness being skin-deep. These games have no nice people in them. Nice people are Zerg, BD (I somehow doubt the bioweapons were his idea) and Adwarf - people that die fast because they arent aggressive enough to survive.

You want to hate me, find a good reason. Don't bitch like a child simply because you can't admit your entrance into the game and IMMEDIATE actions thereafter weren't complete bull.

What does me being me mean you have to be all butthurt in IRC that i was there? What did i ever do to you?

Welcome back Iituem. We've tried to keep your baby alive. She's all grown up now! We've already killed 2 PCs and an Event character in just over a game year!

EDIT: When you kids get done RP'ing in Polca, give me a rundown of it so i can light you all on fire afterward

No, Suppression requires a unit in every territory to prevent esp. But all it removes is the base ETHNIC advantage, ESP research > esp defense still succeeds. It's not that powerful

Distributed Manufacturing? Ok i'll give you that one. Problem with it is that i need logistics research simply to cut my losses. Which i can never have 100% conversion to begin with. So i'm always taking a loss. So yes, i can recruit 23 laser half tracks in 1 province - thats still less than i could recruit without distrib. I only wanted it for the buffer zone in case of attack.

Conscription? Not ours, that was JF - A bit OP to be honest, but it also has a modifier tech.

PDF? No, -completely- free. Income is the only thing that modifies it AND you made a research to add econ gains to it. Where's your cash sink to increase the ability? Where's there downfall? You get 10-11 FREE units in a capital province. No cost at all. Simply killing large swaths of your peasantry should have some effect. Worst he did was make it logical. Why are civilians being armed with ridiculous weaponry that some of your army simply doesnt get due to not upgrading? So no, you got the better deal.

Not that any of this truly matters anymore - game is over. Survival is an amazing bargaining tool. What's worse is that you paid for their return. It took 1 turn to remind them why they were dead to begin with, and how easy it was to make them that way again.

Secret players? I call BS on that to USEC for allowing it. No warning, no reason. Adding a new player not only this late in the game, but HIDDEN as well. None of us had an option to start hidden. Once again - Adding a player ENTIRELY to help one side. So thats 2 players AND a tech dump (databanks that magically landed deep in your territory) given to you Sheb. I find our win to be dirty - but fair given the ridiculous advantages you've been handed.

Phantom joined (with ridiculous tech advantages) under 'fluff' text of how he hated you, then joins you the next turn.
Murray was set to be added, with buffered tech/weapons (again), simply to attempt to kill us.
You had entire factions reinstated simply to screw us (I would have preferred the provinces been yours, not having players readded)

So yeah, turning your people against you? Dirty move, but one deserved.

Yes sheb, because an infinite supply of defensive units isnt OP at all. You can sit and cockblock an invasion forever, never costing you a dime of income, production or units

Thats always been my complaint about it, less so the power (although still ridiculous) it litterally DOESNT COST ANYTHING. Losing PDF should lower your income or something for a short time. You shouldnt have an endless supply of units to defend with.

The Aftermath of War
End of Spring Status:
10 pop total
3 pro war
4 against
3 neutral

As the army returns to Ligoria, nearly immediately do the rumors begin to spread. Civilians and Soldiers alike start talking and given conflicting stories as to the actions in Mileth.

"Those spud eaters attacked the queen during peaceful negotiations"
"No I heard the Queen punched out the DE General"
"Avitus stabbed the General while be was captive and bleeding!"
"His men say it was a fair duel to end the war!"

These stories call for public statements to be made by the political figures involved (Queen and/or General). Neutral parties split sides based on the actions rumored and viewed by the return.

Mileth is free of DE control, but not in the hands of Ligoria. +1 Rebel
Ligoria fled, rather than fight, the DE army. +1 Rebel
Mileth is free of the DE, without major losses. +1 Loyal

Fanatical Anti-DE regiments fight with eachother over the results of the fight in Mileth [1+1] they leave the service of the Queen's Army despite the actions of Vandire. They perceive him as a personal hero, but cannot return to Ligoria given the manner in which the war ended. They do, however, return [3] 3.5d as an apology for their disbandment.

Start of Summer Status:
10 pop total
4 Loyalist
6 Rebellious

Current status: 40% tax loss (6/10 pop, -2 for army occupation) expected at start of the new year. Until revolt is settled, 1 Military unit must remain in Ligoria to mitigate the riots and possible lost taxes. Successful rebellion control for 3 seasons (summer through winter) will return Ligoria to normal.

Turn is finally up! Huzzah!

I'd get your turns in as quickly as possible. Hopefully I'll have my regular internet back on the 28th, so until then I'll have lots of time to work on the turn.

I'll currently looking into what happened in Neo-Cario. My sheet says one thing while my brain say another. I think the Nalians should have it, but I'm not 100% sure yet.

I should unless he took it -this- turn. I held it last turn
*Scans turn for errors* Brb

Its nice that even the Mines on this forum go both ways

He turns to leave, quickly opening the doors so that his allies might rush to his aid should it be necessary. "I shall take my leave, with my men. 'twould be a shame if Polca were attacked by bandits while so poorly defended, but I'm sure you've made provisions for that if you would rather not hire a mercenary group."

The Lord and the Captain look at eachother for a moment before the Lord speaks, "If you want to get rid of him - be my guest. He holds a decent sum of my money that he managed to extort. It's yours if you remove him, I might even have a place for you at that. I simply cannot make payments or promises at this time."

That was...remarkably easy...

"I had a feeling someone was watching me and mine...I thought it was the Lord's men."
William shrugs.

"Well, Madami, if your welling to break the criminal's code and tell me where the smugglers are located, it would be nice...but I doubt you will." He kept his voice polite.

"Does your gang control all the Brothel Houses around these parts?"

"My men watch the docks well enough. We have to...there are times that diplomatic figures will enter town and we must know about them. However, in regards to your questions about the other gang? We hold no love for eachother, and they're no harder to find than we are." She gives you directions to the far side of the harbor. "They don't take kindly to strangers at all. Their work makes them paranoid"

She laughs a little at your last question, "All? We're the only one dear. This town can't truly support more, and our size ensures no one tries."
