Before she departs...

Drua looks at the young man with a glare. She snorts and ignores him. He had the nerve to come up to her and ask her about that Mahtan, the one who coveted her job! What an insult!

While at Suul's ports...

Drua smiles, noting the prices for ships were a little high, and she hadn't been able to find any assistants, but she had picked up some nice herbal rations and lemon mixes that were supposed to halt disease at sea. It looked like she was going to be doing all the cartography, but Drua didn't expect to be fighting any more wars any time soon. She was able to walk without the cane, with the occasional bad ache troubling her. That had been a frightening remind of her mortality and she'd be damned if she was going to go through that again. Probably damned if she died, actually, if some of those preachers were right about her. A dark smile warming across her face, she sets out to find a messenger she can send a letter to her steward.

Spoiler: Letter (click to show/hide)

Her delivery managed, she sets off to find an Order of Thyme boat for hire, one that will take her to the Storm Coast and then across the sea...

What race is Little's character Drua again? Since she was suppose to be an elf, but that was retconned out.

Uh, she's human. Was never supposed to an elf, always just been an average human.

Drua finishes cleaning out her palace room, adding numerous trunks of ingredients, scales, and measurement tools for map-making to the cart, and then begins the trek to Suul. When the new year arrived, she'd have five ducats to finance a mapping expedition to all the fa -away lands across the sea. She'd have to bring a few monks along, of course, seeing as how the Order of St Johns had a few rougher friends who could probably sail her across and the Order of Thyme were good people to keep around. These damn canes were a dreadful annoyance, but with her Suulian friend taking care of her, she'd heal up soon enough. Miring might need the order, but there wewre fresh lands of adventure across the sea, and Drua was feeling like heading somewhere new, away from this land of death and crushed hopes.

Head to Suul and begin making prepartions with contacts in the Order of St John and the Order of Thyme for a trip across the sea.

In the general looting, the Order of Thyme getting burned is bound to happen, especially if the Grandmaster want to clear out opposing religions :P

I don't think Drua will be too happy when you invade Suul and start killing all her friends and looting all the lovely monasteries D:

With her home affairs managed, Drua leaves her estate under the competent care of the steward and begins the trek back to Elbreth. Her few belongings neatly packed into a trunk and what little equipment she had stored at her estate neatly packed into her bags along with her ever-growing notes on cartography and herbalism. Her sword at her side and her canes out front with a few rough notes for the kind tucked in her pocket, the journey begins.

Return to Elbreth and update the King on her condition, the heroics of taking out an entire regiment, and ask for whatever forces can be spared to help maintain order in Miring.

Bug: The credit cost of retirement assets doesn't show up. Also, in the highscores, it records as 'Captain got filthy rich...' when you didn't make the million credits. IMO, it should be changed to 'Captain peacefully retired...'

((No offense adwarf, but I'm against you re-joining the game. Sorry.  :-\))

Drua leans back in her big bed, comfy and cosy in her estate. The Suulian healer was doing good work, and every day she felt a little less stiff and sore. She had gone through and organized her new holdings, and she had done an excellent job, if she was any judge. Now, the difficult task of finding a steward and healing up over the winter, and then she would set off for adventure yet again! The estate's food stocks were full and the wood pile was easily large enough to last through the winter, but the lovely place felt a little...empty. She missed her husband, the charming man who treat her like a member of nobility, who's soft smile and good intentions were shining. She still couldn't believe he had been at the head of a massive conspiracy! Terenos had been involved, and she had heard some nasty rumours about the man, and seen first-hand his disregard for the lives of those he considered beneath him. Drua would have to keep an eye on him, and maybe try to limit that bastard from rising up the ranks...But there was a happier business to take care of! Drua calls for her physician and asks him if he could spend the winter months healing her and seeking out an appropriate candidate for being the steward that would manage her estate and business.

((Yes, Terenos gave it to her.))

Drua hobbles down the hallway of the Miring palace, deeds to her rightful claim tucked tightly under her arm, a dark smile on her face. Her semi-beloved husband was dead, she was badly hurt, but things were looking up. Maybe it was time to get out of Elbreth for a bit, get off the mainland and head exploring. She was still young, she could go and get her supplies from her room back in Elbreth and find a ship. As Drua lurches forward out of the palace, her eyes take in the burned and looted city. She promptly turns around and heads back inside. She needed to find her friend and start making arrangements to leave this part of the region, she had a feeling things were going to get bloody...

Drua will find her Suulian healer and ask him to accompany her to Elbreth. Once she makes it to Elbreth, gather all herbal, alchemical, and cartography supplies and purchase a cart. Head to her Miring estate, and begin managing the business. Raise her personal guard again, and assign it to defend her estate from any turmoil.

((Any of the DM's want to assign a name to Drua's healer?

Drua looks at you, her anger slowly melting into a hard brick of grief that is quickly cast deep into the emotional well. something to be dealt with later. She sits back down on the bed, leaning her crutches against her small bedside table as she takes the folder. She flicks it open, eyes reading along, growing successively wider as she carries the figures in her head. For someone who had spent most of her life going from village to village healing hangovers and setting broken bones with the only payment being scavenged local herbs and a lot of knowledge, these figures were enormous! Visions of a massive, luxurious, estate float through her mind for a single moment before being cast aside. No reason to waste money on being a foolish aristocrat, she could do a lot of productive things with this much money...

She looks back at Terenos, letting out a long sigh.

"I understand. When it's kill or be killed and you're the right, well, you do what you have to. I really don't like it, and I like you even less than I did before. Quite frankly, you strike me as a very arrogant and foolhardy man who will jump into any stupid situation as long as will gain you glory, and your luck holds through on you. The people around you and the people you affect, not so much, but you always end up fine. Thank you for the honesty with my husb...ex-husband's estates. I really do appreciate this, I understand it must have been tempting to take it for your own gain."

Drua smiles, a ghost of a grin flashing across her face, "Thank you again, I can't explain how helpful these funds are going to be. I'll deal with Sir Taric. I can't imagine a Paladin being eager to sack a city or robbing a fair widow of her rightful holdings..."

((To clarify, grinding the scrapings from inside of willow bark and boiling them at a simmer for a few minutes gives you a natural painkiller, somewhat similar to Aspirin. Also, is Terenos going to mention the estate to Drua?))

Drua sits quietly in her bed, pale and shaken. Her husband was dead. Now, she had married him for purposes a little less pure than elemental love, but he had grown on her after a while. He had been a rather brave and noble man who she had found herself liking more and more when she spent what little time she had had in his company. Now, to find out he was the head if a massive conspiracy and was dead. She lets out a long sigh, cursing loudly. Drua grabs the well-fashioned crutches next to her bed, slowly hauling herself up on them, grimacing in pain as an uncomfortable stiffness shoots through her shoulder and mentally thanking the fact that the Suulian physician was both friendly and competent. If he had been an idiot, she'd probably be dead. As she slowly hobbles towards the door, intending to go find the monk and ask for some more of that ground willow bark. She needed to get the formula for that, that man had somehow managed to use some sort of mesh to eliminate almost all impurities. She thought it was quite impressive-

Her thoughts are cut off when Terenos walks into the room. She had thought him quite gallant before, although horrendously incompetent, but now a surge of anger and a sliver of hate entered her heart. She gives him an icy glare.

You ask about your husband, Lord Drummel.

He tells you.

((How much is Drua being told? That her husband is dead or that her husband is dead and the mastermind of a conspiracy to dominate the entire region?))

((Wait, where is Drua, exactly?))

((Drua is in Miring's keep, recovering from her wounds and waiting for a healer from the Order of Thyme to arrive.))
