British politics has acquired some Australian driftwood lately in the forms of John Mcternan, who is running the disastrous Scottish Labour campaign (looking at losing nearly ALL of their seats in early May), and Lynton Crosby, who is running the disastrous Conservative campaign for David Cameron. Can any Australians fill me in on their Australian careers?

Lynton Crosby was the bloke who suggested the Howard Government say during the "children overboard" scandal that the migrant ships had been throwing children overboard as they sunk, even though no such thing happened.

McTernan was apparently a british citizen on a 457 visa, or maybe he wasn't, he evaded every question. A radio host once asked him "are you working on a 457?" to which he said it was "hardly fucking relevant".

I hope that sums them up for you.

It seems a number of people stumbled upon my money making scheme in Guild Wars 2, crashing the market for it.

Fingers crossed it recovers.

Did you buy up Ugly Woolen Socks or something?
Not saying what it is. In the unlikely case it recovers, I want as few people in on it as possible.

It's not as if there isn't a surfeit of easily obtainable and easily manipulated items, Fapmaster.

Go with Y.   Y?  Y Not?

Though yea that mewtwo is definitely the better of the two.  And the Y plot legendary is at least easier to fight than the X one though I haven't bothered using them myself to be sure.

Really strong mewtwo that is as fast as an electrode after 1 turn or a super fairy deer that can massively buff most of it's stats with 1 turn and a hold item? (seriously f geomancy in triples)

Xerneas has been a bastard every time i've fought it - the only time I got it was a lucky Sleep Powder on Mega Venusaur -> sludge bomb -> sludge bomb.

Okay. I should not be able to completely wipe Jasmine's team like that. Goddamn, her Steelix was 11(about 50% more) levels higher than Quilava. Quilava only took scratch damage(from Sandstorm - Steelix did not last long enough to attack twice). What the hell is wrong here? Jasmine was always a problem for me on the GBC games mainly because of that level difference.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Oh, I know that one! Pretty sure that is Fortune Summoners: Secret of the Elemental Stone. (And yeah, while the storyline is ok, the gameplay has a very nintendo hard feeling to it).
I hadn't even looked at or even thought about Fortune Summoners for a very long time and it was also my guess. Never bought it, only played the demo.

While Steelix has pretty titanic defenses, its Special Defense is not so good. (For reference, a maxed out Steelix can have up to 548 defense, but maxed out Special Defense only 251 at level 100.)

Hence, because Flamethrower is a "special" move, it affects Steelix's shaky Special Defense, and probably melted the steel snake easily.

I keep on telling them "Make it spicy" and then I wonder if they actually just gave me the mild version :<

Yeah, i've noticed that a lot of places don't seem to understand spice.

On the other hand, with the surfeit of Asian restaurants here in Melbourne, it's pretty easy to find a food that's legitimately incredibly spicy.

Case in point; there's an amazing Szechuan place in Chinatown, in the alleyway directly north of the Croft Institute (and next door to Berlin Bar). I love spicy food, and this place does not dissappoint; it leaves my face bright red, and nose running like a faucet... and it. Is. AWESOME. Plus the food is legitimately very good.

Not to mention that North China Cuisine (name?) that you suggested we all go to in Box Hill that time. That was fantastic.

I've decided to wear a hat today. I am not used to wearing hats.
Beanies, sure, but I don't feel like wearing a beanie today. Today is a day that requires some sort of hat, and I want to wear this cap that rarely gets any use. It looks good to me, but for some reason the idea of going outside wearing a hat scares the heck out of me. Stupid brain.

Darn Melbourne weather, right?

Life Advice / Re: Getting a new computer built.

Geez that's a truly awful cpu, especially for a system that's gonna price out at $1k+ and even worse for a gaming system - it benchmarks even lower than the 10 year old never-top-of-the-line core 2 duo I have on my non-gaming system.  For gaming, at *least* go with a pentium,  say a g3258 for $50-60 and 3x the benchmark performance...

the A4 is a horrifically slow CPU - it's what they slap into low end, $500 laptops - my brother's $480 school laptop runs a A4 with a lower clock speed - 2.0ghz i think?

I mean heck, my laptop that I got for $800 two years ago runs an AMD A8-4500M - not the best A8 out there, but it's a damn sight better than the A4.

Heh, clearing out my prisoner list was funny. Had a character imprisoned for 40 years... who was 40. Poor guy, imprisoned as a newborn and kept till he was 40.

Large cities have been born, raised, and buried in the great dungeons of England.

I had a Duchess whose father rebelled when she was a child, died in battle after I captured his daughter, so she became Duchess of Trebizond, albeit as a child in the dungeon.

She survived until the age of 62. I don't remember how old she was when she first went in.
I still remember, and still love, the intrigue raising event chain where you can frame one of your serfs for stealing jewelry, only for, decades later, remember you forgot about releasing them.

Yeah, either the Baldrick-expy who still loves you and considers you his lord, or the cook's wife who's damn near destroyed by it.

Fucking Dreamdark Enclave jumping puzzle. I can do it fine, until I tell my guy to jump and they do the tiniest hop in response.

Guild Wars 2

All hops are equal among men!

Nah, seriously, you're always jumping the same height, regardless of animation - it often looks like Norn jump like a centimetre in the air and Asura jump twice their height, but in the end, it's all the same. It's the same with regards to fighting - everyone shares the same hitbox for balance reasons.

Considering that Kal's father told Kal to make a shrine to the Dwarven gods...? It's possible Kal is serious.

Well, I do wonder what that implies then? Sacrifices to a "god of blood", blood under your fingernails????
