This is an amazing thread.
Considering the lack of magma in this thread, I suggest lighting the rabbits on fire with a small amount of magma as they charge.

Necro looses a laugh, fell and terrible!

I love dwarf fortress.
Indeed.

Does that actually increase damage? I'm all for a 100-rabbit cage + 1/7 magma. Basically an explosion of ravenous flaming rabbits, if it goes off next to someone they're toast and they get their limbs nibbled off.
It'll light them on fire. So that will kill them, if the horde of angry wabbits don't kill them.

War Rabbits are to now be mentioned as wabbits.

I mean good ones.  Not ones taken from some other game (unless that game took them from fairly standard fantasy), or unkillable beasts (Death/Terrasque/Galactus, Devourer of Worlds).

Anyone know a good source?  I have Genesis already and I'm tired of all the megas ONLY being dragons.  Plus... they're pretty hard to kill for the Worldgenners.

I like my worlds generating through various stages.  Age of Myth is ok, but when it's the year 1050, there are 10k people in the world, and still it is not the Age of Legends, I feel like something is wrong.  Those badass Dragons will still be there when I want to adventure or play fortress mode, since they're so badass, but in the meantime I want to have some killable stuff out there.

Bonus points if they breed.

Megabonus if they have multiple castes.

Ultrabonus if they hunt vermin, too.
We need to mod in giant cats.

That don't have a population cap. Ahhh, the good ol' days.

Didn't we already have steel shotguns?  :P
Anyway, why do the warlords get all the cool melee stuff? All we have are crowbars.  :'(
Because their modern equivalents have golden AK-47's.

Besides, all we need are GORDON FREEMAN.

Construction on the megaproject is going fairly smoothly, with 4 furnace operators smelting iron round the clock in their tiny rooms deep in the earth stocked with booze and quarry bush leaves roasts.

The iron will be used to build a giant fortress entrance that, hopefully, will look completely badass by the time I'm done.

However, there was a giant dwarven rum spill. Imagine a completely snowed over freezing biome with yellow-colored dwarven liquid slowly spreading throughout the white snow, completely covering any dwarf that goes outside.
"Always eat the yellow snow first!"

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Which is better? A pick or a battleaxe?
« on: April 14, 2011, 05:47:04 pm »
So far, it appears picks are a jack-of-all-trades, with battleaxes being best against unarmored, and hammers best against armor.

Interesting...

Not so much hilarious as it is unique....

Ingiz Atirnakuth, expedition leader cancels Dump Item: Getting Married

Spring arrived and suddenly there were two simultaneous weddings, one between the miner and farmer, the other between the leader and an immigrant leatherworker.

Heh, so he got married just before he was going to dump her?  Kinda harsh, even referring to her as an object....

I generally have complex personalities for my dwarves. The cheese-obsessed noble, the psychotic miner, the stalking woodcutter, and so on.

After the original 7, personality is granted on merit. If you're the general, you get one. If you make a planepacked statue, you get one.

Leave, then reclaim. That should work.

I'm planning to mod in fossils.  Am not sure whether to treat them as stone, or as gems (irl, small fossils are often made into jewelry, but with larger ones this would be silly).

This is a fossilized t.rex bone bed.  All craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality, blah blah...
You should make it a gem, as fossils aren't that strong.

But then again we have spaceships made of soap.

Mod in bacon and cheese bushes

Bacon and Cheese bushes...

FUND IT!
Copy and paste code from kobold bulbs so that it gives you pig meat instead. That way you don't get pig meat seeds.

...wait, PIG MEAT FARM!

These are interesting results indeed. So basically, if I shatter several elves rocks, I'll become the greatest Dwarven warrior?

Nice.

The only way to make them tradeable is to make them a pet or a domestic animal.

If you want, you could make a caste of slave dwarves?
