No way this can work out well.

I'll pass.

Seriously.

This is crazy.

I..I second this notion. It's...time for my pills.

Name: Arc (Tiruin): Execute Plan Alpha-Trot-Whiskey! You decide that aggression isn't a good choice in this matter, so you break out a...[2] jaunty tune and start moseying around. There is an extensive amount of flora and fauna in this room, despite the small size. You can't really tell what any of the plants are, but...[3]. You decide not to touch the one with those spiky tendrils, and instead brush a nearby leaf. You brace yourself for some kind of horribly monstrosity to pop out, but...Nothing. Strange. You can hear the faery above your head, and it sounds like she's getting mad. You don't understand what she's saying, but you guess that it's probably quite rude. She might understand you, though...

Evidently, she seems to really hate your whistling. Which comes as a surprise, because you always figured that you had a knack for that sort of thing...You halt your whistling, and the faery calms down. Deciding to make use of the situation, you quietly sit down. The faery, likewise sits down on her mushroom, staring at you.

"So, little faery, what are you doing here?", you ask in a soft, yet questioning tone. The faery cocks her head to the side, but makes no response. You don't even know if she can understand you, but you might as well try...

"Do you want me to catch you? If so, why?", comes yet another question. And once again, she doesn't answer. This obviously isn't working...There must be something that can grasp her attention...[Intuition Roll: 6] According to myth and lore, Faeries have an almost dependency on things sweet and magical. The legends also state that they kidnap, and feed on babies. Since you're probably not going to find any babies in this miniature forest, you decide to do something useful...[3] Slowly sitting up, you once again start searching the plants. Only two catch your eye, a hanging vine with some kind of sap on it, and a small mushroom that seems to...Sparkle? What should you do?

Name: Nassir (Urist Mcinternetuser): Refuse the nice old lady! You feel that it's probably a very bad idea letting some crazy bat cut your skin and feed you strange potions, so you gather your courage and...[1]. Insult her. "You stupid old WHORE! Do you really think that I, the great Nassir, would ever be of aid to a vile creature such as yourself? Get out of my sight!", you exclaim while walking off. The old lady just stands there behind you, not making a sound. Just before you enter the door, you sneak a peek behind you...A beautiful elven lady stands where the old hag was, in the same clothes as well. A single tear slowly falls from her eye, as you shut the door behind you...

You're suddenly plunged into darkness! Not the kind of dark you'd see at night, but an eerie, pitch-black smog. It quickly overwhelms your senses, and...[3] Your fear rises. You manage to keep your courage all though, but this room seems to be pretty dangerous. Luckily, your hand's still on the doorknob, and if you want, you could walk along the outer edge of the wall. Most of the rooms have been pretty normal thus far. While you're thinking of the plan, suddenly...[3]. A strange tapping is heard at the end of the room. Every ten or so taps, they seem to get just a bit louder. Something's probably coming closer, and only the gods know what it is..

.Name: Derm (dermonster): Make! Spear! With a thoughtful gaze, you reckon that those trees are pretty spear-worthy. And, it never  hurts to have a weapon! You head to one of the nearby trees, the one with the lowest hanging branches. you find...[4] A decent stick, long and quite young looking. It's green and flexible, but not particularly tough. You snap it off the tree, and pull off the leaves. Nothing in your inventory can help you sharpen it, so you...[1] Can't find anything at all to help. Bummer. You do your best to whittle the end into a point, which...Hopefully will do something. You seem to have fashioned a sort of weapon, but it could probably break easily...Suddenly, you hear a crash in the bushes! Whipping around with your newly-made weapon, you scrutinize where the sound came from. As it continues to grow louder, you ready your spear. Without warning, a man in a suit of armour breaks through the tree-line, gasping and trying to regain his breath. After a few short moments, he notices you standing there. He gets the strangest look on his face, probably due to the...Oddities of seeing a half-naked stick-wielding forest-dweller. The soldier...[2] Doesn't react well to you. Fear is in his eyes, but it's probably not because of you...

"You there! Knave. The one with the stick. What are you doing out here? Don't you know what's going on?", asks the soldier. Without delay, you...[6] reply. "I...I'm sorry, sir. I seem to have gotten, er, very lost. Pray tell, what's this...Dire situation that seems to be going on?", you reply in the politest of tones. "Ah, I..see. Well, no matter then, all is forgiven. You see, our town was just being attacked by...By a dragon!", cries the soldier. Taking a closer look, you can see that he's quite old, in the fifties. His armour is rusted and well-used as well, and he seems to be weapon-less. What should you do...?

Ah, Sorry about that, Tiruin. The dungeons have a sick sense of humor, and a wrong move may cause you to be eaten by man-eating pla-er, rocks. And stuff. I'm trying to improve on the RTD as I go, so...It may be a bit different. I have an end in mind, but let's not ruin it :P. Well, maybe an end, it all depends on the dice...

Now that I re-read my post, sorry about that. It almost sounds like I'm asking for pity attention; - I didn't mean to come off that way, ugh. I appreciate the compliments though, I've always wanted to start a RTD, but I wanted it to be small and simple. The problem with words for me, was because I've always read books generally far out of my league (As a kid, I had no TV or video games, so I read. A lot...), which caused me to pick up all sorts of things without knowing the proper definitions. Along the way, I would usually just make up my own "Definitions", but that usually ended up being pretty odd.

Glad that Quizzically was the right word! Heh-eh. And, welcome to the wonderful world of RTD's! I'm actually pretty newbie myself...I lurked for a few months, and then finally got the opportunity (And guts) to join a RTD, and it was awesome.

I pray that your death (In-game!) is swift and merciful. Godspeed, my friend. Godspeed.

Name: Derm (dermonster): Palm to machine! With only a slight bit of hesitation, you kneel down and place your hand on the outline...Of, well, a hand. You know. The machine begins to whirr, and the top slowly opens. Inside of the machine there seems to be...[5]. A little mechanical mouse is sitting there, staring up at you quizzically*. You remove your palm from the box, and hold it open infront of the mouse. With a tiny click, it jumps onto your hand and stays there. Turning it over, you notice a large screw, the kind that can be wound up. [Intuition Roll: 4]. A small inscription (really small) reads: "To activate this minion, merely wind the screw." It's an interesting contraption, especially considering how it's alive. You set the mouse on the floor, and it scurries behind you. You head towards the exit of the room, and the mouse follows you...Seems you have a buddy! (Derm gained Mechanical Mouse: Accessory!) You then head to another room...

Opening the door, you enter a strange area. It seems like you're outside on a snowy mountain, but you don't feel cold, nor do you hear anything. Still, a wind blows around you, and dark trees sway ominously. You can't see any walls or doors, so...What should you do?

Name: Archerin (Tiruin): Leap in the air and exit the room! You take a deep breath, and give a jump for joy! [5]. Luckily, there weren't any gigantic spiders or horrible head-eaters above you. Good thing. You walk towards the door, and confidently open it...

You enter another room. (Of course.) The only thing different, is that this room is absolutely filled with plants. The air is buzzing with insects and the smell of pollen is overpowering. You cautiously advance forwards through the greenery, until you light upon a clearing. Sitting in the middle on a small mushroom is a tiny fairy, with gossamer wings and a mischievous smile. The moment she notices you, she gets up and begins to fly away, but stops suddenly. With her tiny hand she beckons you forwards, but suddenly flits in the opposite direction! You don't know what to make of it, but you do see the door out of this room..[Intuition Roll: 6] (How do you guys get such good rolls!? What?...) Your instincts tell you that the fairy probably wants to be caught, but you don't know why, or even if you can. Maybe there's something in the room that can help...

Name: Nassir (Urist Mcinternetuser): I will take the coin. You reach out, and calmly grasp the coin. One side is cold to the touch, while the other is warm. You try and understand it...[Intuition Roll: 5] (Okay, I'm not kidding. These are legit, D&D dice rolls. I...I don't know either.) You guess that to activate it, you probably have to flip it. Who knows what it does...You pocket the coin for now anyways. You head to the end of the hall room, and open the door...

You step into what seems to be a laboratory. There's vials and beakers, strange liquids and mad scribblings on desks all around you. You see a hunched figure, leaning over a short desk. You don't know what to make of it, but you continue forwards...With a start, the woman straightens up, and gives you a strange look.

"What's this? An adventurer in my lab?", croons the old hag. "I don't know what you're here for, but I know that you came at a good time. You see, I be needing some help...With a certain experiment. I've been working on a potion that's supposed to heal whoever drinks it, but I can't find a proper test subject! No, no, no, it wouldn't work on me, I don't feel like hurting myself to test it." She tilts her head thoughtfully, and continues. "If you'd like, I would gladly give you a few spare potions from my lab, and the only price is that you let me try this healing liquid on you. All I have to do is give you a small cut, and then you drink it. Nothing dangerous...So, what say you, boy?"

[Intuition Roll: 2] You don't know what to make of the old hag, but there's a door behind her, most likely leading out. What do you do...?

*(I don't know what word this is.)
If you can see any way to improve my writing, I'd love to know. I've never really wrote (Well, typed, whatever...) a "Story" before, so I'm probably horribly bad. Doesn't help that half the words I use I don't even know the meaning of! Glad that you guys are sticking with this RTD, I appreciate it! Truly, I do.

Name: Derm (dermonster): Investigate that clunk! You slowly head towards the strange noise. The room seems to almost grow longer, and the feeling of claustrophobia overwhelms you. Striking a brilliant idea, you look behind you at the still rat, and...[3]. It doesn't seem interested in you, nor the noise. It scurries off, which may or may not be a good sign. Anyhow, you reach the end of the wall, where the strange noise is originating. The only thing out of the ordinary you can see, is a small box. Leaning down, you see there's a slight indenture in it, the shape and size of someone's palm. You hear the clunking noise inside the box...[Intuition roll: 6]. You have a feeling that it'll work out fine if you place your hand in it, but you never know...Your gut isn't exactly the most accurate thingimabob...

Name: Nassir (Urist Mcinternetuser): Spin the Wheel! You slowly walk up to the wheel, and stare at the strange...Thing standing beside it. He says nothing, but simply gestures towards the wheel once more. He seems harmless, but you keep an eye on him...You reach out, and grab one of the spokes in the wheel. After taking a deep breath, you spin it...

Round and round the wheel goes, taking a seemingly indefinite amount of time to stop. Finally, it begins to slow it's spinny-ness, and stops on...The number [2]. Suddenly, a loud CRACKLE is heard above you! In your shock, you [1] Kinda stand there. You don't even seem to notice the noise. A loud click is heard infront of you, and the wheel opens...Revealing a Minor Treasure! Wait, no, there seems to be three items? You look at the strange man, and he holds up one finger, and then points at the items. You figure he means...[Intuition roll: 6] That you should only take one. But, it's your choice...The items are:

A small pair of glowing slippers.
A wicked looking knife, with small thorns on the handle.
A tarnished coin.

Which do you take...? All, one, none?

Name: Archerin (Tiruin): Execute flawless plan! In a sudden flash of inspiration, you...[4] slowly shuffle towards the wall, looking meek. The skeleton doesn't really seem to care, and charges at you (Well, as fast as a bunch of bones can go.) You suddenly leap forwards,  your momentum taking the undead by surprise! (+1 to all Attack Rolls this battle.)

COMBAT!

Down some random pills to remove any bad effects. Lots of pills!
BTW, to prevent your power from being obscenely OP, actions like that will only add +1 to your roll.

Huh, sure...It's kinda weak in the long run. I mean, if I picked, say, telekinesis, I could lift stuff and kill people with it. But for my Luck skill, it's very...Situational. Dodging a bullet wouldn't be luck, it'd be skill. Sure, finding a good pill would be luck, but avoiding a car wouldn't be.

Your call though, crazy dude :D
Actually both would be part luck, the idiot with the gun could miss all-together, and lucky people wouldn't cross a street where they would get run over, that driver might have severe hand spasms and veer in the other direction.

You have a strange view of luck, my friend xD. Eh, however it works is fine. Maybe I should have gone for the ability of incredible Moxiness...

Play as a band of adventurers and travel across the land smiting evil (Or helping it) along the way!
Isn't that what 90% of the RTDs around here are based around?
I have really bad creativity.

@Kisame: I'd join it! Why not? Make it 4 or so players, and give it a test run. A simple RTD, and if it fails, so be it. More experience. What'cha waiting for? :P. Reserve me please! :D

High fantasy too! Magic! Unicorns! All that stuff.

Eight is potentially manageable for one with low RP involvement, and he can always cut it down via attrition.

Still, it will be boring if 1-2 of the players decide to take a hiatus. It happens a lot...But, I digress. You're probably right :P.

@hitty40: Lots of players in an RTD may be a bad idea. Turns will probably end up extremely slow, a lot of users don't check every day. Just a forewarning.

I've actually seen surprisingly little classic 'You all meet in a tavern in high fantasy medieval england' type games.

I like RTD's similar to that. It's a nice set-up.

Cool! I love random. I just hope that, before Eustachio dies, he's able to slaughter a few badgers...

Wait. Is this an RTD or a roleplay? If a roleplay...Why in the RTD forums?

Good question. I didn't think too much about it other than the game mechanic is fairly simple so I considered it to be an RTD. As far as the role-playing part, it can be summed up with the line "Your character is a tantruming dwarf, act accordingly."

Right, guess I'll join then. I don't really know how the stats work, so I just left 'em at normal, for now anyways.
