Not knowing what it was and, I assume, wanting to know how much it was worth, they traveled to the House of Scholars to learn what they could. I joined them in Di, as I was under assignment to travel to the House myself on an unrelated matter.
"The Abbess of the House quickly figured out that the orb was in fact the Royal Orb of Alvada, an artifact that pre-dates the Reckoning. According to the Abbess, its appearance is a sign that great catastrophe approaches our world. Fortunately it also reveals the location of other artifacts that, when assembled by royalty, are said to avert the catastrophe that the Orb presages.
"On orders from the Abbess, Captain Ethan, his crew, and myself first traveled to Port Omega, where we found the second artifact underneath an old church. It was an old bracelet, quite clearly from before the Reckoning, yet pristine despite a lack of obvious magic about it.
"From Port Omega we traveled on to Demon's Grin, where Fer joined us." Amberly gestured for Fer to take over, mostly because this
was his family and he should be able to share his story, but also because she was out of breath.
