: "No Fer, you mustn't apologize. You gave me fair warning and I came along anyway. If I hadn't, this situation wouldn't have come up." Not that Amberly wasn't touched by Fer's apology, but it really wasn't his fault. Not in the main, at least. The nun turned her attention back to the older Jasso brothers, letting her voice harden again.
: "I can see the problem you have with the Cult now, and believe it or not I sympathize with you. Destroying the Jasso Library was an act of barbarism and ignorance in an age when the Cult abused its power.": "But believe me when I say that the Cult is different now. We are collectors of knowledge, just as your family is. Our own House of Scholars has preserved records of the artifacts we have collected, and it is thanks to those records that we were able to find them. As to why that was such an important task...well, that is one of the things we can discuss should you be willing."
: "None taken, sir. Shall I assume that fighting a "Demon General" is generally perceived as difficult?"
: "As I am currently unattached, your offer is the best I have received ma'am. By default, admittedly."
: "I did spend a few days trapped under rubble, ma'am."
: "I am designated 42-1, ma'am. I confess that I do not know what one million rhea is."
: "Would anyone care for some relaxing tea? I took the liberty of preparing some." And indeed, in the time between the demons leaving and the current argument the homonculus had found the kitchen, brewed a pot of tea, and prepared a tray with a selection of mismatched tea cups.
