Jasmine got the feeling that she'd be shrugging a lot with this guy. She did so again.

: "Well...good luck with that. Personally I'd try to find a way to balance the world that doesn't require nearly bleeding out."

You know what Truean's post reminds me of? Doctor House. If audiences can love a curmudgeonly misanthrope like House then I can't see why they wouldn't find a show based on Truean's career interesting.

: "Good idea. And thanks for the ride."

Harlan got inside the village gates and hunted for the closest tavern where he could take shelter. Preferably one with a roaring fire.

Cook away, Blaze, cook away.

+1 to Analogue, Hate Plus, and Long Live the Queen. The sale also includes Carpe Fulgar's works (Recettear, Chantelise, and Fortune Summoners) which are all pretty good. The Ys games are nice hack-and-slash titles; I prefer Oath in Felghana and Origin over the I & II collection. Anyone have recommendations for some of the other titles?

: "Think you could take both of us at once, Tomik? A wet eyepatch does not sound pleasant."

11468
Harlan nodded at Tomik's question.

: "He just grabbed me by the shirt. I'll be fine, assuming we get out of this damned rain soon." Despite his words, he seemed a bit short of breath from the suddenness of being lifted into the air.

Ketsuki tapped Harlan on the shoulder companionably.

"It seems you've made a friend, doesn't it?"
: "Oh yes. Just like the friends back home."

No, sorry :<

I would need to do a lot more research before I could write something like this.

Harlan wasn't sure what was more surprising: the pirate's sudden attack or the fact that the others seemed to be sticking up for him...sort of.

: "Knock it off, you idiot. We can sort this out inside, OUT of the rain."

I had so many bizarre dreams last night, and all of them seemed interconnected in some way. And my dream-self knew that everything was odd but kept trying to make sense of it all...did I have a lucid dream? O_o

I've been working on a book the past couple of days called The Martian. It has nothing to do with green-skinned aliens with ray guns. Not yet, anyway, and I'm pretty close to the end.

It's actually a pretty hard sci-fi novel about a man who gets mistaken - and left - for dead during the emergency dust-off of a Mars expedition. The story is mostly told through the written log entries of the astronaut as he tries to figure out how to maximize his survival time. He's got supplies for 6 people to survive a month, but it will be years before the next expedition arrives...unless he can somehow let NASA know that he's still alive. It's very good, very tense, and (unexpectedly) very funny. Gallows humor for the most part, of course.

More attack power, more evasiveness, more stealing potential. Good level for me :D
