Under her veil, Amberly smiled at Fer's awkwardness. The smile faded however as the mage began to lay out everything that was bothering him.

:
"I do not recall if I told you of this, but you were not the first one I saw Ethan threaten with death. He did the same thing in Port Omega, because a group of villagers had simply witnessed him with one of the artifacts. Luckily we were able to talk him down, but still...
"I wish I could promise you that everything will work out perfectly in the coming months, that there will be no fallout from the old King's death, but that would be an insult to your intelligence. Short of divine intervention I do not believe that the Captain will make a wise and capable ruler, so our best hope is that he finds someone better-suited to fill the throne. We will simply need to do our best to ensure that what you fear does not come to pass, or try to minimize what damage results."The nun eyed Fer's features, noting that he certainly looked the part of a noble scholar. She wondered what his family's library was like; for that matter, she wondered about his family too. Would he look in on them while he was in the city? She had not seen a member of her own family in many years.
As she watched, though, she thought she saw an odd flush on the mage's face. Her voice grew concerned.

:
"Are you well, Fer? You look as though you have a fever."
