Bio: The product of a short-lived fling between a nobleman and a tavern wench, Amberly is a young woman from New Alvada and a Nun in the service of the Old Gods, though this was not her own choice. Instead, she was placed in a nunnery when she turned 10 by her own father. He did not want the fact of his bastard daughter's existence to become public knowledge, nor did he want her or her own offspring to one day make a claim for his land or money. As such, she was tossed into the one place where both of those outcomes might be avoided.

While Amberly believes whole-heartedly in the Old Gods, she chafes under the heavy restrictions placed upon her by the older Nuns. She is forbidden to speak in public (unless there is a dire emergency) and must keep her face concealed except for in her own room. She wants to escape the nunnery, but without money or allies she fears that she will eventually break, accept her limitations willingly, and in so doing lose her spirit.
