Acid damage is very helpful near the end of the game when many enemies have armor. I had a named corrosive revolver that, despite being several levels old, could reliably two-shot enemy mooks.

I can fight through undead monsters, demonic abominations, evil mages, even killed a couple of demons.One of the worst wilderness encounters is a pack of wolves. They're like Evil Dogs and come at you from all sides.
But I can't even put up a fight against a room of dogs.
