https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/659943965/human-resources-an-apocalyptic-rts-game

So the guys who did Planetary Annihilation are gearing up for a second game. An RTS consisting of giant skynet robots fighting against lovecraftian monsters, bashing their way through cities and fighting over who gets to devour humans for resources. There is no human faction.

Quote
The Singularity is nigh. Newly-sentient automated factories churn out waves of giant robots, hell-bent on dismantling and recycling all of human civilization. The insect-like Machines can deploy into stationary modes, enhancing their shielding and firepower. They decimate their enemies with ranged energy weapons.

The humans invoke the tentacled Ancient Ones in a last-ditch effort to stem the Machine onslaught. This proves unwise. Now the Ancient Ones vie with the Machines to consume the last scraps of Earth.

Quote
Battles unfold on floating fragments of Earth as they are ripped from the planet and pulled toward the waiting mouths of god-sized faction leaders. The cities that lie in your path are fully destructible, as is the terrain beneath them. Uproot buildings to use as clubs! Create mighty warriors that can cut the Earthshard in two! Bore giant holes through the ground!

This sounds bloody amazing. And their trailer is even better.
:O

Oh man, that thing looks awesome. And it doesn't seem to be version-exclusive either :D

(If I win, I may end up with an extra copy of CKII (since I already own it))
Not if past experiences with bundles is any indication, you won't. I think the only package deals that provide extra gift copies are for Valve's games.

At least you're alive \o/

Thanks for all the headset information, guys. I've been thinking about buying a set for gaming and streaming, but since they tend to be a bit on the pricy side I don't want to make a bad choice and waste money :P
Huh. You stream? Like, twitch streaming? I was thinking of trying some streaming. We should make a bay12 stream thread or something.
Yes, twitch streaming. Not as often as I'd sometimes like :P

Partly because of the no-headset thing, which forces me to use text chat if I want to interact with viewers (when I have any and if they're talkative, that is). Also because I'm never sure what to play.

Am I the only person that thought that the Gungans from Star Wars were actually kinda cool?
Except for JarJar yes, and even he got better in the later films when he became less "comic relief" and matured slightly.

I want an underwater city with a badass submarine :3

MZ, what do you know about headsets? Got any recommendations?

I play with $65 Turtle Beaches. Very comfortable, built in mic, excellent audio, have been using them for months now with no perceivable degradation. One of the better choices if you have money to drop on them.

Of course, there's much cheaper headsets + mics out there, but I can't recommend being a flintskinned miser.
Where did you get them for $65? I see Turtle Beach headsets at the local gaming stores, and they're easily $95+ for the cheaper models. Some are much higher.

TF2 was a lot of fun! Will be a lot better once I figure out the headset shenanigans. Thanks for showing up, people of B12.
Does this require heavy net stability and/or large downloads? (1GB+) ._.
Yep  :-\

I guess you could probably call it "more of the same but more". There's a LOT more, though. I'm still just going through the story (haven't touched the DLC except for playing as one of the add-on characters) and there's just a ridiculous amount of stuff going on.

and glyphgryph
I talked to GlyphGryph on the Cataclysm forums and it seems that he is most likely gone from the Bay12 forums for good. :(
Oh well.

Besides, it doesn't actually remove much if any of the mysticism.

So what if there's these little organisms living inside other organic lifeforms which indicate Force sensitivity? It doesn't actually explain why the Force exists, how it can manipulate thoughts, objects, or energy, or how those sensitive to the Force can see what might happen in the future, among any number of other things. It's a bit of added redundancy to have the Force manifest itself through microscopic organisms rather than the Force users themselves, but other than that the Force is still a mystic energy field that surrounds us and binds the galaxy together. Nothing's changed.
