"I haven't heard anything like that. According to those two--" she pointed towards a pair of gossiping halflings about 20 feet away "--the current theory is that the father is an orc blacksmith from the next village, whom Mrs Peterson had been visiting frequently last year."

How do you know so much about the agility of hoverboards? :P

I can see quidditch being a zero-G sport in a large, enclosed arena. Maybe have players wear a harness that contains small retro thrusters for quick manuevers.

30 feet isn't all that far away. He could have been trying to bullrush the police, like a football player might.

Pure speculation, of course. If eyewitness reports are conflicting and the actual autopsy can't yet determine the exact circumstances, speculation is kinda all there is.

Ah. Slightly more complicated.

Can't stop soon enough, in my opinion.

Actually, I think this was first.

Other Games / Re: Shores of Hazeron (new thread with the last updates)

Dunno what to think about this. I want Hazeron to come back, but I don't want a drastically different game that inherits only the name.

I mean, I'm fine with a better engine, or a graphical update, or something along those lines. I just don't want the city development or ship designing or universe exploring aspects to disappear. I liked Hazeron for what it was and nothing else seems able to compete.

Apparently, GameStop stores in my area have started a special promotion today: pre-order one of the new Hoenn games, get a Heracross or Pincir in your copy of X or Y, along with their megaevolution stone.
Sounds like your local stores are cheating you.  From what I heard, it's like other events in that they shouldn't require the preorder.  That could be wrong, though; they usually use the wireless instead of one-use codes.
Following up on this quick, just in case.  I just went in today, and I can confirm that no purchase is necessary according to the event guidelines, just like the regular wireless events.  If your local Gamestop is insisting on a preorder before they give you your code, they are cheating you in order to pad their preorder statistics for the home office.  It's something I've heard certain unscrupulous branches and managers tend to do, though I'm glad I've never had the ill fortune to encounter such misbehavior for myself.
Hmm, that's troubling. I'll bring my 3DS in on my day off, see if I can just pick it up on the wireless.

TODAY FUCKING SUCKS! AAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!

I show up for work at my normal time and am told (after I had already logged in, of course) that my load would not be ready for an hour. I can't get a different one, nosiree, so I resign myself to wait.

An hour passes, nothing. Another 30 minutes. 15 more. I'm about ready to just go home when the load finally arrives. The long wait combined with regular pre-trip inspection of the trailer means I get underway two hours late.

So I finally arrive, unload, and send a message asking about the status of my return trailer. I'm expecting it to be 30 minutes out, an hour. Hell, it wasn't impossible for it to have already arrived.

As of about fifteen minutes ago, it was roughly 150 miles away. Given the steep mountain ranges and heavy traffic I'm looking at a 3+ hour wait.

Oh, and I get paid for none of this waiting.
A part of me wants to simply take off, but I already promised that I would wait 3 hours. The dispatcher, entirely failing to understand my situation and not being at all grateful that I didn't simply respond with a hearty "fuck you" and took off,  merely admonished me to "plz be patient". Easy to be patient when you sit at a computer desk and get paid by the hour, I guess.

After Bata was out of earshot, Jasmine stepped up to the Sheika woman.

: "In your shoes, I probably would have mentioned something about the less-than-positive reputation Gerudo still hold in some places. Nice job keeping a cool head. Probably a requirement in your line of work."

Other Games / Re: Chapter Master - In the name of the Emperor!

So uh ... don't rebel immediately against the Imperium, apparently that is a bad idea. I destroyed two small imperial navy fleets, and generally did stuff to piss the other Imperium groups off to try and see what would happen. Apparently the PDF on your homeworld will rebel, and the thing is they're a hell of a lot more competent than most IG apparently. I lost that battle against over 987000 PDF soldiers in under four turns after having my entire chapter unload with everything they have, and barely scratch them ....

That's backasswards. PDF are, almost without exception, never better equipped or trained that the Imperial Guard.
PDF on a normal world, maybe. PDF on a Chapter Homeworld, if I remember correctly, tend to be superior.

Weston choked on the foul dust kicked up by the explosion. He had no idea what happened, but it seemed the beast survived somehow. Time to hopefully fix that.
Chaos Bolt! And I believe I have some item power that allows me to use it twice, so let's do that.

I can have Ursa move to the other boat, blocking the square that Ceil can be attacked from. Then she can heal Farris mostly worry-free.
