Reading...That reminds me of some series of short stories I read, that I think had been linked here. I can't remember any of them, but they all consisted of humans being badasses. I think there was one where some alien race was able to kill by use of sex, but a single human managed to survive and took them over. One fanfic I am reading right now has XCOM humanity secretly trying to guide events in the Mass Effect universe. Now that I think of it Mass Effect fics are one of the few places that humanity is every awesome in a sci-fi story that has aliens.
