Actually, go to 5-H and jav the swordguy.

"Yes, yes, that's fine... You can watch the herd, I'll take a look around for spoor before the trail gets too cold. No sense waiting until the sun's out and making everything bright and miserable."

The dwarf quickly finds bootprints, hoofprints, and paw prints all over the place. The paw prints are (probably) from a dog, presumably Mop. Sadly, Imrak doesn't have any real experience in tracking and can't begin to determine which bootprints belong to Dawls and which might belong to someone else, or even himself or his newfound companions.

The hoofprints, meanwhile, seem to lead out from the pasture's gate. There are so many of them that tracking individual trails is sadly impossible to the dwarf's untrained eye.

Yes, I am enjoying this dialog very much.

So it looks like the pairs are going to be Hate & Maraline, and Imrak & Raina. Two things to consider:

Which group will stay up first? Will you rotate just once or swap every couple of hours?
How will each group keep watch? Hide in the barn, patrol the pasture, etc etc?

General Discussion / Re: I like anime, do you like anime?

I'll never understand why the same Internet that decries bullying in all its forms will fanboy so hard over Angry Explosion Kid. From what I remember, Bakugo's an unrepentant jackass with basically no redeeming character traits.

"Only when the weather's bad. Too cramped to keep 'em in there every night."

1418
Yes, there is. It is not fully dark, just dark enough that humans will have a hard time seeing things.

(I gotta start remembering the terminology.)

1419
Dawls looks startled at the suggestion.

"Well, I guess that makes sense. They ain't yet hit two nights in a row, though. Well, if you wanna stay awake all night I'm not gonna stop you. The goats are over this way." The farmer walks a short distance past the barn towards a fenced-in pasture. The goats are barely discernible to people without darkvision, but those who can see clearly in the dark can make out several dozen goats clustered about, clearly settling in for the night. Aside from the occasional bray, the animals are silent.

Seems like as good a place to put it as any.

1421
Well, I backed it! Really hoping we can get those androids and robots, especially if they can join the crew.

1422
Boy oh boy I am just all over the place.

I've been working on a sheet and I have this so far. Character details like backstory and personality coming tomorrow. Is this good so far? I added the "Power" and "Languages" sections to the sheet as those were missing or I couldn't find the correct place to put those on.

EDIT: Finished, I guess.

This looks pretty good. You're officially first on the waitlist!

I too would like to sign up for the waiting list, if I may. Character is entirely rolled, but not with dice, because I lack d20s.

The whole land for military service thing in his backstory I concocted from what little I read from the Orc Splatbook preview pages on rpgdrivethrough.com. It said, basically, that while nearly all Orcs are enslaved to the emperor, there do exist Orcs outside of his slave army; mostly in the form of Orc settlements established to promote the idea that Orc Retirement actually exist -- I figured pseudo-free land-for-service contracts would be a sort of natural extrapolation of their place in society. Hope that's okay for messing with the setting with you. Otherwise I could also see "Privilege to hold Orcs" as being something granted by the Emperor to trusted supporters and vassals, and that being the origin of the settlement and the contract, if that sits better with you.

Spoiler: Here's Stormin' Gormin (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: More characty stuff (click to show/hide)
Your logic regarding orc settlements seems pretty sound. I imagine that there are also free orc enclaves scattered here and there, who don't want any truck with either the Empire or the orc rebellion. Your backstory sorta breaks up near the end, but I think it'll work out okay. Consider yourself waitlisted.

I finished my sheet actually.
Like I said, I'm all over the place lately :P

As your most recent edit was done before either of the above sheets were posted (it was very close!), Weaver of Secrets will be joining shortly. Just gotta find a place to introduce a clockwork spider with a yappy dog...

"Aw, thank you kindly good sirs and ma'ams. Blessings of Astrid upon ye. Follow me; my farm's outside the walls but we oughta be able to get there before it gets too late. I'll put you up for the night, and show you around in the morning so you can get to work finding that damned thief."

Dawls waits patiently for his four helpers to toss back their drinks, then leads them through the streets of Tomrik's Hollow to the eastern gate. After a short conversation with the guards (which mostly consists of "watch yourselves out there") they are let out into the sprawling community surrounding the city proper. Here, those too poor to afford a home within the walls - or have trades that require a lot of space that only the wider world can provide - live in the hopes that they can seek refuge when trouble comes to call.

"It's this way!" Dawls calls over his shoulder. He leads the group further away from the gates, to the outskirts of the community where tightly-packed buildings give way to pastures and farm plots. Eventually, after the sun has finally vanished from the sky, he marches up a dirt path towards the wooden hovel he apparently calls home. A large shaggy dog comes out to greet everyone, barking wildly but not acting even remotely aggressively.

"Get down, Mop! Damned dog. Don't mind him, he's as dangerous as he is useful. Hasn't caught the thief even once." Mop takes exactly zero notice of the insult. He's more interested in sniffing at Raina.

"Right, well, I don't exactly have much space in here. You four can kip in the barn." Dawls points to a larger structure, also made of wood, looming on the edge of visibility in the deepening night. "Ain't much, but it's dry and there's blankets. I'll show you around in the morning."

Arial sketched a salute at the guard commander and waved to the caravan survivors.

: "Once you have your stuff, let's get moving. It'll be a lot safer in the city than out here."

Jasmine wasn't quite sure where this spear had come from or why it was covered in blood, but she resolved to never attempt to use it. At least the guy trying to break down the door had apparently run off somewhere, so she was safe for the moment.

The same, however, couldn't be said for that other guy.

: "Hey fella, take it easy. Quit flinging dark magic around for a second and let me patch you up."

Use vuln on Rafiel!
