ALso, for wands, you still have to be able to learn or know the spell yourself, but you can use UMD,just like with scrolls.I don't know what UMD is. HOWEVER, the wand page says nothing about the user learning or knowing the spell themselves. And the spell trigger page says, and I quote:
Anyone with a spell on his or her spell list knows how to use a spell trigger item that stores that spell. (This is the case even for a character who can’t actually cast spells, such as a 3rd-level paladin.)Whereas scrolls must be read by someone who can learn or knows the spell. For example, a paladin would not be able to read a Longstrider spell scroll, even though it is divine magic, because he/she cannot actually learn that spell.

We were going to go spend a week at my Grandma's, which is fine, except last time we were here she had really, really, slow internet (not quite dial-up, but only minusculy better). We get here and suddenly I discover that she has upgraded and now has a rather fast 500 kb/s connection, a couple of times faster than my parents house (which is where I was spending the earlier part of the summer). Quite a nice surprise! Now watch as you're forbidden from using the computer while you're there :v
I don't like optimizing. It's kinda... meh for me. Sorry everyone. My choices won't be the right ones. If they are the right ones, they're for different reasons. It's all good. I dislike Power Gaming as well, but in my opinion it's only really Power Gaming if you're doing stuff like deliberately exploiting game mechanics, bending rules, or looking up powerful pre-made builds online. If you just do stuff that fits your character, even if it is considered "sub-optimal", you're fine.
I personally don't like Power Gaming. It makes me feel awful if I'm the strongest of the party cause everyone needs a thing to do. If I do everything better I feel like I'm being a total prick. I had hoped my inexperience would help me not make overpowered choices but...
I actually just took Cleric because I wanted to be a party support. Apparently I'm capable of being the party everything... Whoops.

That was... an INTERESTING conversation.
