Playing Earth Defense Force 4.1. I think I'm going to develop PTSD (okay not really) from fighting giant bugs and robots as explosions and screams go off all around.

Like, for all the schlocky B-movie plot and voice acting it is genuinely and intensely unnerving to play on some stages. Whether it's a swarm of four-meter-tall ants in a massive underground cavern (crawling over the walls and even the ceiling in their attempts to kill you) or a formation of ten-story mechs stretching across the horizon with energy weapons blazing.

It is in fact perfectly feasible to beat the entire game using nothing but the artillery beam as far as offensive armament goes. It takes a bit longer, but I have done it and I am not particularly good at FTL. You just have to focus on defense and support tech rather than cramming on the best weapons possible.

Pro tip: if you have mind control of your own you can negate enemy mind control with it. You can also target their mind control with hacking! I highly recommend having either system by the time you reach the flagship.

Couldn't say, I was spoiled on the scene in question almost day one. Also, I had read some of the comic before the show premiered so I knew that very bloody violence was a feature, and that Omni-Man had done Something to get on everyone's bad side.

I agree that it wasn't really much of a "twist" by the end of the season, for whatever it's worth. Even if someone had missed the very end of Episode 1, there were plenty of signs throughout the season that Nolan wasn't exactly as heroic as he acted.

That was a post-credits scene IIRC, so it's possible loads of people just, ended the episode as soon as the credits came up. If no one told them "oh hey make sure to watch to the very end", how would they know to stick around? TV shows don't normally go for post-credits stuff.

Trump has demonstrated, time and time again, that he holds no loyalty to anyone save himself. Whatever this pledge is, refusing to sign it is probably the most honest course of action he could have taken.

Yes, I know, "Trump" and "honesty" are a nearly unheard-of pairing, but there it goes.

Might be a good idea to invest in a nutrient paste dispenser, at least temporarily, while you halt meal production and dispose of any suspect meals (pawn them off onto a caravan or something). Your pawns won't enjoy the paste, but it is completely safe from poisoning and uses raw food more efficiently than meal prep - not a minor consideration when pawns are vomiting and need extra food. Use that until the situation stabilizes, then either dismantle the dispenser or shut it off for a future emergency.

Well, the rest of us appreciate the good work you're doing. That probably doesn't mean a lot, coming from internet strangers.

Should probably also avoid drunkposting, too. It's not illegal but it can be somewhat embarrassing.

I've been playing a good deal of Idling to Rule the Gods lately. It's a very slow burn sort of game, the kind where they claim that you can finish the tutorial in about two weeks and it probably will take that long unless you devote full time to it. Resets (called Rebirths) are fairly frequent starting out as you slowly build up the numbers needed to take on more advanced content, and once the tutorial clears you unlock challenges which can take similar amounts of time (but also unlock yet more content in addition to boosting your capabilities directly). I've done a few challenges already, so I guess I'm nearing the end of the early game.

It's got some xianshi elements but they're mostly in the background and the (many chapters of) story; you're not going to be consuming pills or wiping out entire villages with pure killing intent or anything like that. Instead you start by creating "shadow clones" which serve the same function as energy in other games - you assign them to various tasks that boost your numbers so you can take on the titular gods. As you defeat more gods you unlock additional features. Many of these are lost upon rebirthing, but others (like pets) are permanently unlocked once you defeat the requisite god.

Speaking of pets, they are not cosmetic, except optionally. Pets boost your numbers, and can be trained and sent on various campaigns for goodies. Unlock enough pets and you can send them into dungeons, unlock even more pets and you unlock a village for even more crap to do with them.

Basically, there's a lot to uncover. The very early game is the most painful part, where you have the fewest options for progression and meta currency gain is slow. It's still in development, so maybe some of that will change down the road, but I think for the most part they're doing bugfixes and expanding later game content.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was intended to try and weed out trans girls. If that is the case, then the fact that it is somewhat creepy and arguably an invasion of privacy is an unimportant consequence in the minds of whoever is asking these questions.

The whole laptop story has been nonsense pushed by liars from the get-go, so the fact that liars are now lying about other liars isn't surprising at all.

Just watch. Twenty years from now you'll still have Republican candidates claiming to have found the True Laptop of Biden and conning followers into believing it has some relevance to their current events.
