Just Cause 2 is not NEARLY as fun as I expected. Been wanting to try it for over a year, finally fired it up tonight, and found it to be nigh-unplayable :(
Unplayable?
Dunno what it is. Grappling is very hit-or-miss, parachutes sometimes fail to deploy, and actually controlling yourself in freefall/while gliding is impossible so far as I can tell.

One early mission wants me to ascend the side of some casino to disarm bombs at the top. After several minutes of failing to get past the third floor and falling to the bottom of the mountain, I gave up.

I would suggest sticking with the longbow to avoid counterattacks. With all the orbs gone, we just need to whittle Vernon down bit by bit.

Your ex was a bad boyfriend. Why should that make you scared to leave the house? He's not your problem anymore.

Because if I run into him on the street, then I will have a really bad panic attack/dissociative episode, which is terrifying and very bad every time it happens. He used to live 15 minutes away from me walking. I could avoid his house, etc. Not knowing where he lives means I don't know where to avoid. Fortunately I'm moving away from this area in a couple days. I know he's still in the area, if not precisely where, and I will never come back here. Then this part of it won't be my problem anymore.

I do think relocation is a step you need. Away from your parents, your ex, and all the toxic associations that have built up there for you.

Violet had always had excellent hearing and a sense of where things were located in relation to her, but as she concentrated on what seemed to be another enemy swordsman up ahead, and entered an en garde stance, the world seemed much more sharp than it was before. Counterpoint: the GM could make weapons in other subcategories readily available or otherwise desirable (Armorslayers, for instance), so a character would have to choose between keeping the PS active or using a different weapon.

Strategy-wise, this looks tricky. We can only attack in melee from that little spit of land at the top-right of Vernon, which is, let's say, less than optimal. Ranged attackers are limited to the spot to the right of the melee square and the little bridge tile. Sakura and Fezzina can levitate across the water to flank Vernon, but that's mighty risky.

It is worth noting that as a priestess, Leona can levitate as well. Keep it in mind.
