Treasure a whole city wanted to find? Well that was probably nothing, a legend to get the desperate and poor excited. Secret papers, on the other hand, sounded intriguing.

: "What sort of papers? Could I maybe see them?"

Jasmine was momentarily overwhelmed by the surge of activity in her chosen watering hole, but soon she began putting pieces together. This was a bunch of adventurers, clearly, and they were looking for her less-than-informative informant. Why? Well, that was still a mystery. Whatever the reason, the girl was beginning to hyperventilate.

Now a stranger was asking her questions. Well, that was something she could deal with.

: "Slow down a moment, uh, person. I was just asking your Karin some questions, we haven't met before. The name's Jasmine, nice to meet you Astera. What sort of 'adventure' are we talking about?" I'td have to be either an extremely exciting or extremely short adventure to interest the mage; the airshipyard expected her back in a couple of days.

Jazz looked slightly annoyed.

: "You're from Kizamo, aren't you? I haven't been there in years, I'm trying to get some news - what, are those friends of yours?"

Jasmine had only stopped by the inn for a quick drink and a meal after work, a common enough occurrence. Meeting the girl from her old homeland was an unexpected bonus, and the magitechnician was hungry for news.

: "So is the Council still freaking out about kids playing card games? When I left, some parents were talking about banning "Go Fish" of all things."

Okay, sheet and bio are pretty much done.

Spoiler: Spooky scary (click to show/hide)

Not that you can't melt their heads or whatever. It's just unnecessary.

Same here. Maybe when my current game ends I'll try to run one of the 40k RPGs.

I decided to use a clever trick to exploit a volcano in order to distill and sterylize polluted water for free, and the result was that I boiled several of my colony members to death.

I did get clean water out of the gambit tho
Not what on Earth is that?

: "Aye. Ye'd be amazed how many villains go for healers as easy targets. Excuse me."

(20,12) and Recover Anne I guess.

Monks have been pretty badass for a while, I saw some vanilla 3rd ed builds that were completely broken into OP nightmares, I'm not current tho' because I haven't tried 5th and have no plans to start.

They've kind of always been superb evasion tanks, all the way back to AD&D.
Oddly, that runs squarely counter to what I'd always heard about Monks. I.e., that they were squishy, underpowered, lacked good abilities, and (for those who care about such things) were a bit of a token dash of Eastern mysticism in a generic Western setting.

Personally I couldn't care less about that last bit, but the other points still stand. I've tried to play Monks at least three times, but none of them were in games that lasted long enough to form an impression one way or the other.
