And wow, was just looking through the handbook and a fairly ridiculous number of classes get S-rank in swords. Three of them, in fact: Assassins, Swordmasters, and Rogues. Most other categories only have one class that can S-rank, while by default Anima has none at all.

Hrm, maybe. Jake's quite a bit older than Violet though :P
Then again, it's not nearly as big a difference as DianUrsa...

16143
Looks interesting. What path are you planning to take class-wise?

So it's 10 right?
Assuming you're following the order of operations correctly, yes. 10 x 0 = 0, 10 + 0 = 10.
...if I messed that up I will be incredibly sad.

Bracket, Exponent, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Substraction.
Also know as parenthesis, exponent, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction. Pemdas: Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally. Why you silly european people break a perfectly good mnemonic I have no idea.
You forgot something there, Frump.

How long does the shield drone last? Does it eventually stop making new supershield layers?

: "So is this everyone, Lady Elvira?"

5 and 8 were the results of the dice rolls scapheap made to determine your affinity choices :P

16151
...Does Olison?

I really regret not grabbing another heal staff in town. Instead we wasted the last of our cash on the worlds most worthless NPC.
Which NPC are we talking about here? I don't remember giving Tiron any of our money :P

Violet gently moved Runa's hand away. The other girl obviously meant well, but getting touched by strangers wasn't exactly something Violet was fond of.
: "That is correct, I cannot see. I have been this way since birth."
She turned towards the one calling himself Jake.
: "That is kind of you to offer, but there is no need to trouble yourself. My other senses are much sharper than most, so I can at least get around easily enough."
Finally, she nodded politely at the newcomer. From the way he was clanking around he was probably a soldier of some sort.

On the one hand she wanted adventure and excitement and a chance to finally put her sword training to the test. On the other she wasn't entirely sure if she'd be capable of fighting and killing. She opted to respond with a diplomatic:
: "I guess we'll find out once we get there."
By now she figured that he knew of her handicap. Even the most unlearned peasant would figure it out eventually since she made no special effort to hide it, and Noel sounded to be anything but.

Violet couldn't help but look slightly flustered.

: "I...am somewhat skilled with a sword, yes. Though how the recruiter could tell I have no idea; I haven't actually been in a fight before."

What she didn't tell him was that she had signed up purely by accident: a man had set up a booth with a sign advertising for mercenaries to serve the Princess, which drew quite a crowd. Violet, wanting to know what was going on and not being able to read the sign, had worked her way to the front of the crowd and the recruiter had assumed she was just very eager to join.

: "And no, I don't fight from horseback or anything like that. What about you?"

16155
Violet nodded along politely. There was something off about his voice, like a hand or some other object was blocking the sound slightly.

: "Well, I'm positive that keeping the place in order is an important job. I'm sure it's not as fun as throwing fireballs around though."
