General Discussion / Re: Why do so many people write "rediculous?"
« on: March 13, 2014, 11:51:58 am »
People suck at English, particularly at spelling long ir complicated words. Some people just sound out everything, which is why they spell everything wrong, because English carries a ton of loan words that aren't phonetically spelled.

In short, people are too lazy to spell check, and English is a convoluted mess.
And sometimes they fail at words that aren't long or complicated!
and I know that was probably just a typo :p

This looks interesting. I'll have to check it out when I get home from work.

General Discussion / Re: Things that made you go "WTF?" today o_O

I'm suddenly sad that nobody lets me punch people anymore.
Amateur Boxing. Punch people for fun and profit!

Without pause, Keyleth finished the move by using the momentum from her kick to land upright before delivering several quick jabs. She then responded...but not with her voice.

"What do you mean?"

((Italics with quotation marks are using Thought Projection, FYI.))

17435
That bishop needs to go doooown.
Look on the bright side! If he's blasting you, he's not healing bad guys!

17436
Keyleth appreciates the training the castle offers. So much so, in fact, that she spends the entire week practicing and developing her psionic powers along with keeping her physical form in shape.

((Basically she has no reason at the moment to explore the town looking for thieves, does not have enough money to purchase magic items, is not trained in magic so she cannot participate in the prophecy debate (even if she wanted to), and so she can just fast-forward.))

Gordon sold his half-used Heal staff and bought a new one. He didn't bother with introductions; if what the violent young woman (and why was it always young people?) said was even half-true, they'd be meeting soon enough anyway - probably while he was treating her injuries.

@ Xan:

IIRC, the blizzard only effects units outside. And yeah, I think it's reduced movement for everyone.

Hrmmm. That's a tough one and I have work to do, so I'll revisit this topic later.
Okay.

Ursa is a definite "no". He's big and strong, sure, but he's also violent, has trouble with language, had a pretty crappy life that would get you your own documentary nowadays, and is a raging bigot.

Grifen has her own problems, not least of which is being permanently disabled and having a crippling phobia. On the other hand, she didn't have many family issues, is smart enough to practice (herbal) medicine, and she's likable.

Gordon is an old cranky bastard - not exactly what I hope to be. He also lost his wife very early in their marriage and has spent decades in a semi-suicidal haze because of it. No thank you!

Gregor has earned the respect of his friends, met and married a wonderful (to him) girl, and bravely fights for what he believes is right. A bit of a Stu, but it would be hard to argue against living in his shoes. The biggest downside is that his family is now dead.

Jasmine I don't have much of a personality or backstory figured out yet, so she's a bit of a blank slate. Still, she's steampunky and enjoys tinkering with stuff so that could be fun I guess.

I guess I would go with Gregor or Jasmine as first/second choice, and Grifen for third. The other two are a little dysfunctional for me :P

Gordon examined the staff, apparently nonplussed.

: "...I'm not entirely sure. Me focus has always been on healing staffs, and this is nothing like one of those. Guess I'll have ta experiment."

17441
Hrmmm. That's a tough one and I have work to do, so I'll revisit this topic later.

Gordon was unable to look Kat in the eye as he continued his healing duties.

: Oh, I don't know about that. Would be something of a relief in me eyes.

17443
: "Minor injuries only, already healed. I'm afraid I got a wee bit overconfident back there."

Sophie walks up to Gordon.
:"Please heal me? I'm not sick anymore, but I still feel terrible..."
Gordon does so.

Oh god, not another Ursa ._____.;

Lol. At least it's only first level?
Problem is I really, really need SPD. Jasmine's character skill lets her go first when attacked if she has higher SPD, and its critical for her build to be able to counter-kill almost anything that attacks her.

Ursa's been building up STR and SKL, and as a bandit that is pretty much what he needs. If Jazz goes another level or so without SPD she will quickly become near-useless and unable to catch up.

"Do you think he really will return?"

: "Were it not for all that talk about necromancers I would have said no. Now? Who can say?"

"Thanks, Gramps. Sorry for being in a rush all the time."

: "Don't mention it. Just try ta be a little more careful in the future; I have me hands full with Garret as it is."
