This logic is why I'm holding off on getting my truck washed. Next snowfall, or next trip down a slick road, and its covered in salt and dirt and other nasty stuff.

Move to the square just north of Aurel.
Fire a CHAOS BOLT at BK9! If secondary attacks occur, send it towards BK14, BK13, and so on, aiming to hit that big clump down in the corner.

I am on the list waiting for a trooper, right?
Which one were you, again?

Name: Samantha [wind/air-themed nickname] Curringer
Preferences (weapons, stats, etc): Guns.
More specifically, pistols.
Bio: Graduated from [REDACTED] at the age of 18. Heard of the death of a previous [REDACTED] and decided to fuck up some aliens.
Extensive research shows she is a [REDACTED].
On the waiting list.

Also, roster and graveyard in the OP are fully up-to-date.

Enoch steps over the bleeding man and stares at him curiously.

"Hm. Your in quite a bit of pain, there where you've decided to be lain." He cocked his head to the left. "Large of girth but little for mirth, yet you seem to be one of the earth. For that, you must be of interesting worth."

A sprinkle of powder later...

Move to 12.4, heal Ursa with vulnerulnerarily.
Ursa eyed the cloaked person as he got up, eyebrows furrowed. He then responded:

: "Ursa thank hood man. Try to stop Ex-ten not go to...plan?"

February 15th, 1999

It's been a couple of days since my last entry. Once the remaining soldiers returned from Vancouver, I made a point of telling them that they had performed as best as we could have hoped. It wasn't entirely a lie; the new laser weapons proved themselves quite capable and the damage in Vancouver was much less than Calcutta. Partially because most of the fighting took place in a sort of park, but also because they took down so many of the floating disks that had previously been thought nigh-invulnerable.

Oh right, the reason for this entry. We have several new recruits arriving today. 16, in fact.

Spoiler: There's a lot (click to show/hide)
I've also been sending the Interceptors out on patrol duty, hoping to catch some UFOs still in the air. So far, nothing.

March 1st, 1999

It's been a long time, huh? Well, obviously the funding nations weren't so happy with the little progress made last month. At least it wasn't as big a hit as January.

Scientists are still plugging away at the alien weapon John Smith managed to bring back. I'm debating whether to stop sending the Interceptors out; there's simply too much airspace to cover and the aliens seem to be keeping a low profile. We haven't had a single sighting.

March 3rd, 1999

Speak of the devil, eh? And thankfully, one of the interceptors had just been launched. It was a simple matter of redirecting the craft.

The interceptor closes in...

engages...and shoots it down! Sadly, the UFO appears to have landed in the ocean and disintegrated on impact. There's no wreckage to recover, but at least we can call this one a qualified victory.

March 12th, 1999

Another one, spotted by Lt John Baker in Western Russia. This one was moving much faster, but I ordered the lieutenant to engage anyway. The UFO flew south far more quickly than he could keep up, and tracking was soon lost. On a hunch however, I ordered him to continue to patrol, and the UFO soon reappeared moving at a much more sedate pace. Perhaps the pilot of the UFO assumed it had escaped?

In any case, I ordered both interceptors after the UFO. It was a gamble with the two fighters so low on fuel, but we had to try to bring it down.

John Baker scores his first kill! The Skyranger takes off immediately. The engineers had not been idle over the past month; we had enough laser rifles for everyone on the squad. I have a good feeling about this one.

Operation Huffy Cleric

John Smith: "Alright people, its daylight, there's no civilians around, and we've all got these fancy laser guns. Let's make this a clean mission!"
Roman Howard: "Smokes out!"

Roman Howard: "Whoa. An actual UFO, right here. Pilot sure picked a helluva spot to land."

John Smith: "No hostiles sighted yet. Stay frosty, people."

John Smith: "SNIPER! Hostile sighted, take it down!"

Maxclone II: "Holy shit, that was awesome! Perfect shot!"
Emile Batista: "Looks like we've got a sniper of out own!"

McUrist: "An ambush! Curse them!"

John Smith: "Got him. Okay people, let's finish sweeping the area before checking the interior."

Except that the rest of the recording was utterly without incident. Those two "sectoids", as the eggheads have started calling them, were the only surviving aliens in the area. It's possible some fled, but we managed to recover these two bodies as well as four others. I doubt any more could have fit in such a small craft.

As for the craft itself, there wasn't much left other than the outer shell. Nothing resembling a computer console or engine could be salvaged. We did manage to gather half a dozen pistol-type weapons, some clips that appear to match them, and some strange, hand-held spherical devices.

Roman Howard got promoted to Sergeant for...some reason. I can't complain though; a perfect mission at last. Things are finally starting to turn around.

Bah, computers aren't real instruments >:(.
Everything is an instrument if you hit it the right way.
Suddenly I'm reminded of the ending to a certain DBZA episode...

My connection here isn't good enough to stream video :/

I'm sure you could get a copy for free. It might smell like rum though.

Well...maybe :P
I was honestly thinking about it.

Why is Metal Slug 3 coming to Steam? The better question is why just Metal Slug 3?

: "Well, since they're blocking the hallway and none of us have Pass..."
"You'll forgive me if I don't hold my breath on that. Still, maybe they'll give up and run away like those thieves did."

Just looked at the HP spoiler for the first time in a while and holy shit that's a lot of dead people.
Wait, really?

Nah, they're both in the same city, and no interviews have been set up. It's just weird, you know? I busted my butt and looked everywhere to find a full time job and/or IT job for quite a while, and got nothing. Now, I wear a blue shirt part time. And then, while I'm at work, on the same day, I get two calls: one for a full time job, and the other for an IT project (that I could presumably do on the side of my part time job.) O_o

That's awesome dude! :)
Thanks. Also: A wild interview appears! It's a phone interview, though, which is always weird.
Hey man, a phone interview is still way better than no interview at all. At least you know you're being considered :)

Taking the rest of the day off. I woke up well before the crack of dawn to drive 350 miles to deliver on-time, and got to deal with the joy of hard-packed snow-covered roads. Had a brief moment of terror when my brakes failed to stop me properly despite going parking lot speeds. Thankfully, nothing bad happened.

So yeah, I feel I deserve this shower, strees-free dinner, and full night's rest :D

Of course, such a ship would likely be on its way to a new colony or something, thus making Earth citizenship utterly arbitrary :P
