I'm a little confused about how to calculate prices for enchanted objects. How much would Gauntlets of Shock cost?
The Shock modifier is equivalent to the cost of a +1 enchantment, so assuming there are no other enchantments the Shock part would cost 2000gp.

The gauntlets themselves would be cheapest if made of mithral, at only 83.7gp.

The total cost of Mithral Gauntlets of Shock with no other modifiers would be 2083gp, 7sp. If you also added a +1 enchantment to them, the cost would go up to 10,083gp, 7sp, because the cost of a second level enchantment is an additional 8000gp, where the first level of enchantment only costs 2000gp on top of the base cost of the item. Basically, modifiers to weapons and armor will either have a flat cost or have their cost listed as being equivalent to a +n bonus. In the latter case, you check the cost table for enchantments and treat the price as if it had an additional +n levels of enchantment.
Perhaps I'm missing something, but how are mithral gauntlets cheaper than normal gauntlets?

I'm surprised you figured out I wanted him to go back to primary school.

I mean, I did google search "elementary school enrolment" but the resulting page I linked was general enrolment for all schools and universities for Ontario.
Wrong thread?

((So fire damage seems to kill them permanently, eh?
Explosive Pyre oughta do well here :D ))
((He moved closer, he didn't hit him with the torch))
((Point is, fire seems to work where simple light doesn't. And since Explosive Pyre's damage area persists for a full combat round, one can assume that it should light the place up for a short time just like a torch.))

Ahhhhh. After a 2 am start, I put in a solid 12-hour day and now I'm done. Plus I don't start until 6 tomorrow, so plenty of time for rest and relaxation!

Ursa grunted in satisfaction.

: "You're up, Princess. These seem to be last enemies."

Sheet isn't done yet, and likely won't be done until later today. Much later D:

((An infinite wave of enemies dealing 10 damage per hit strikes me as a bit much for a bunch of 1st levels to take on, personally :o ))

((Ahh, but think of all the XP we can get if we deal with this properly!))
((I'm guessing each individual monster is worth very little or no XP, and completing the encounter is where the real reward is. Besides, our healing surges won't last forever (I'll need two to recover from just the first round of attacks!) and neither will the AoE abilities that are essential against so many strong enemies. We need to figure this puzzle out quickish.))

Oh, Sirus, if you have the money, but a Monk's Belt.

Monk's Belt

Because seriously. It makes you a reasonably effective combatant. (for a monk)
Hoooo snap. That looks pretty damn good. It'll take almost half my gold, but it'll be oh-so worth it.

I am perfectly okay with that!

((How are Grot and I supposed to change places? That'd take a couple of turns and there's not a whole lot of places to move to.))

@ Remuthra: Kobolds are already hella weak. I decided to not fight it by dumping a ton of points into Str and focus on being able to hit, dodge, and use special abilities consistently instead.
That's because you're a purist. With the right racial templates, any race can be insanely strong.
Eh, I'm curious as to what these mysterious BOONS are that Hans mentioned. I'll give up on crazy racial templates and just focus on doing what I do.

For instance, I can use an unarmed attack to stun enemies six times a day. Stunned enemies drop everything they're holding, can't do anything, and lose a lot of AC (Dex mod, as well as an additional 2 AC right off the top).

Or with the sai, I should be able to semi-reliably disarm enemies. Not gonna worry about grappling, because we kobolds are small and suffer pretty hefty penalties to that.

In other words, I'm not shooting for damage. I'm working on disabling enemies and making things easier for the rest of the party.

Heh, for now I'm still in California. Central/Southern California. It's warm and way to dry for winter. We need some of the rest of the world's precipitation :P
