I'm fine with making a new character. I just don't want all this stuff I gathered (some useful, others purely cosmetic or decorative) to disappear into the ether. I will kinda miss his vaguely punkish look though.

@ FD: Which files should I grab? I don't think I can make a backup of the entire 3 gigs...

I found a Floppy Lady's Hat. Now I have to try and save a backup of this character, in the slim chance that his inventory can somehow survive.

Quickly, file wizards! Where should I put this hat to give it a chance to survive?
Anyone? I hear that the next update will break everyone's characters. Seeing as how I just started getting enough iron and possibly silver to finally progress, is there any place I can try to place this stuff for after the update? Maybe storing everything in chests on this planet and writing down the coordinates?

Please refresh my memory on how to repair tools. I read something about dropping copper ore onto a pickaxe to repair it, but that just seems to swap the items around.

I believe you pick your ore and right click.
Many thanks! I'm finding so much copper ore right now it's not even funny, so might as well use it for something useful.

Well, looks like Cicero will be guaranteed a copy of Postal II come tomorrow, unless more folks decide to try for it :P

Has anyone found a use for magmarock? I keep finding stalactites of the stuff that causes damage on touching, like ye hellstone of olde.

Ursa decided to scout ahead and moves to (35,4).

S'been a good day in general, despite how cold the morning was (seriously, I was lying in bed wrapped up in blankets and I could still see my breath). Got a couple of easy assignments that still racked up a good number of miles, had time to take a shower, and I still got done early enough to grab my computer and relax. And now I'm eating frozen yogurt! With cookie dough! And there's supposedly a storm blowing in tonight! Goooooood day.

Here's the thing Swordstar, we had no control over the two dead characters. None. Short of surrounding every possible enemy unit so that they couldn't attack or be attacked, no plan on Earth could have saved them; they died far to quickly, had no knockdown timer and I'm pretty sure BMM42 wanted them to die anyway. As for Jago...well, I have no idea why Powder decided to run an archer into the midst of a bunch of enemies, but that was his decision and we've got good odds of saving him regardless.

What I'm saying is: if you can't stand people in a community multiplayer game wanting to do their own thing, even if it goes against your flawless strategies, perhaps you should stick to playing the video games.

My preference is to not worry about a plan, unless we're facing an exceptionally dangerous enemy or someone's life is on the line. Other than that, let the players figure out who to attack and where to move on their own - after all, things like personal skills and faults can make a plan that appears optimal at first glance better or worse, and the players know that stuff better than anyone.

Also worth noting, to all those who wish to dig deeper!

Dig at the beam-down spot.  When you beam down again, it'll deliver you to the lowest block on the location.  Doing this, the Terraria Hellevator becomes extremely effective.  The only problem, is getting back up...
Break out a section of backwall at the bottom. You can now beam up.

Put it in a porn magazine to disguise your filthy reading material.
And put that in something like Twilight, so people know you're hiding something but assume its simply porn. Reading porn openly will only arouse suspicion

Oh man oh man oh man they're reviving my favourite tabletop RPG (Mutant Chronicles). Now to convince my DnD group to switch games... :)
Simple. Go
"Hey (term for friends), I found this old game called (game) that I used to enjoy. We should try it for a couple of (time unit) for variety's sake."

If they can't agree to that, then you've got a seriously un-fun gaming group :P

Also cold here. Can't run the heater without running the engine, can't run the engine unless the temperature is below 25 degrees. If the temp is, say, 27 degrees? You're shit outta luck and gonna suffer.
