General Discussion / Re: Things that made you absolutely terrified today

I keep wondering to myself whether these are legitimate, given to him because he's Russia's president, or if it's gained via threat/bribe.

I find it pretty hard to *actually* believe he's done all of this stuff.

Yeah, I somehow doubt he genuinely has earned all these things.
You mean like how Kim Jong-Il has genuinely bowled a perfect game and gets holes in one every time?

I've discovered the Strike Legion RPG.
It is glorious and I want to play it.
Wait, what is this? Sounds awesome.

My hand hurts so fucking bad. ;_;
Is it wrong that I want to make an inappropriate joke here?

An automatic level-up-roller might be nice.

This is good. The soldier can either flee and give us up north some breathing room (smart option when faced with a giant growling axeman, honestly), or he ignores Ursa in favor of moving closer to Diana, or he attacks Ursa, guaranteeing his death next turn whether he hits Ursa or not.

20721
Honestly I was kinda hoping Diana would stay back this round. With Ursa in the way, I don't think the soldier can reach her with his triangle advantage, and he's helpless against Ursa's ranged hatchet strikes. Which means his only option is to move closer to Ursa, in all likelihood getting hit again and hopefully not dealing much damage if any at all.

On the other hand, Diana is vulnerable in a head-to-head fight with the soldier, and if we don't kill him now he'll probably attack her again causing severe damage. I think Ursa has just one vulnerary left, but let's try to avoid using it yes?

Having a great deal of fun playing Tales of the Abyss. The characters are well-written and complex, the game itself has managed to subvert my JRPG expectations quite a few times already, at least one moment made me laugh out loud, and the combat system is great.

We'll have to be careful though, with no healer and both of us having personal faults that reduce the effectiveness of healing items...

I don't think we thought this through very well. Maybe we should mostly sit tight and wait for backup?

Fallout 2 75% off. Still a bit pricey for such an old game, but a damn great RPG on the other hand. Also, Humble Store has Receiver at 1.99, a pretty weird game that basically runs on a single realistic-gun-handling gimmick.

Buy Overgrowth and their other in-house games tend to be free.
Do this. You get a ridiculously fun brawler which is still in active development along with Receiver, Low Light Combat, and I don't even know what else for free with it.

Ursa nodded, growled, and moved forward to strike!

Move to (37,4), HURL Hatchet at the soldier!

General Discussion / Re: FEEL THE BURN! (Exercise thread)

I get in and out of my truck a few dozen times each day, crank lots of trailer landing gear up and down, crawl under trailers to place and remove locks, usually have to walk two-three minutes to get food or use the restroom and another two-three minutes back...lots of repetitive stuff interspersed with long periods of sitting down. Doesn't sound like much but you really start to feel sore after doing it several days in a row.

Ursa considered the idea of wearing armor. He didn't know how one could fight in such a getup; probably why that guard had been killed so easily.

: "Sword Man? Met while Ursa was following Extens that caught your pack. Said he was bored or something and decided to follow. Ursa not know how good he is in a fight yet. Something wrong?"

20730
Ursa looked around, somewhat startled. He didn't recognize this section of the stone building at all; this must be the way Brann went. He resolved to stick close to Diana less he get lost in these twisting corridors.
