So apparently the craptastic cable company I used to work for got sued (surprise surprise). Somehow I got part of the payout despite only working there a few months two years ago.

I'm not gonna complain about "free money", but wtf? I didn't even know a lawsuit was going on!

Ok I don't mean to sound rude or spiteful or anything, and I really don't want to ruins your happy mood but... You are making about half of what a truckie over here would be making for their first year.
Yeah but you guys have to deal with deadly wildlife, plus you tend to pay twice as much for video games.

Besides, my company may not offer as much salary-wise (a fact remarked upon frequently by my fellows), but they take really good care of their drivers. Up to and including paying for things like airfare and hotel accommodations when needed, or getting drivers home ASAP if something comes up.

The company pays for fuel, repairs, and other truck-related incidentals. On average I take home about $500 a week.

See, before this I had never been able to hold onto a job for more than three months. My resume is just a bunch of three-month jobs scattered through the years, plus one volunteer position that lasted a year. But as of today, I have been at the same job for four months, thus breaking the curse! And since this is a job I enjoy and don't totally suck at, I don't see myself leaving any time soon.
