I don't know who that is. I've played very little Final Fantasy, or Square Enix games in general :P

Maybe Grifen is Terra...?

20973
Grifen perked up at the mention of Fezz.

: "That's a great idea! I'll have to run it by him later; if there's anything like that in Masalla he'd be the one to know!" She didn't get much further on that wagon train of thought however, as Candy's ramblings brought a disturbing fact to light.

: "Waitasec...preacher, did you just say that a gentleman like yerself don't know how to dance?! That's crazy talk!"

I keep getting free stuff. Yesterday it was an entire container of red licorice from a warehouse that I picked up a load from. Today it's an entire loaf of banana walnut bread from this coffee shop as they prepare to close. This is awesome.
Why would a coffee shop order hookers?
They didn't. I'm here to take advantage of free Internet during my rest break, not deliver anything - hookers or otherwise :P

Okay, thanks for writing all that stuff out and all...but I knew about dark energy, accelerating expansion, and the "visible universe" concepts for some time now. I just hadn't realized that the expansion had already exceeded the speed of light, hence my confusion :P

: "Never ever? Fair enough, I ain't ever been here either."

: "I guess you'd have to be there to appreciate it. Not many big cities except near the coast. Lots of open grasslands and gently rolling hills, where my folks live. Some mountains and caves here and there; apparently they mine for gems and stuff in those places."

: "There are dangers however. Wild dogs, bandits...used to be slavers, before Ma and Pa wiped a bunch of them out. Abandoned mineshafts all over the place; someone falls down one just about every year. Most don't get out alive."

But I don't wanna kill Ewoks :<
* Sirus is probably the only person over 10 years old who actually likes the fuzzy things

: "Well, if we ever find ourselves in Masalla we should definitely go. Like ya said, they sell just about anything at a bazaar. And a theater sounds like fun, I ain't ever been to one before."

Grifen took a moment to admire Sheila's new axe before answering Leo's question. Something like that - but in crossbow form! - would be perfect for her.

: "Oh yes, that's where we'd go to trade every season. We raise sheep on the plains back home, and then we'd sell their wool, milk, butter, meat...whatever folk'd want really, and then buy whatever we needed. Could be kinda dangerous though, so kids weren't allowed to go. I've only been a few times."

She was interrupted by Candy's arrival.

: "Ain't ever heard of a mimebeast, but Granny says that clownfiends can be banished with olive oil. Didja try that?"

20980
: "Hey, fancy trick! Reminds me of something my uncle taught me." She took off one of her gloves, took a coin from her bag, and made it "walk" from knuckle to knuckle.

: "Took almost a year to get right, but it gave me something to do. Anyway, this place is pretty nice. Reminds me of the bazaars back home in some ways, but with paved roads. Ya done any shopping so far?"

20981
Tabletop Star Wars sounds awesome. Have fun with that!

20982
While on her way to the crossbow store, whistling a tune, Grifen came across Leo and Sheila. Sheila seemed busy with a coin for some reason, so she tapped Leo on the shoulder instead.

: "Howdy preacher! What's up?"

Something about it still doesn't make sense to me. If the universe is only about 14 billion years old and it is 30 billion light years away, wouldn't the distance between us and it have to be increasing faster than the speed of light?

I'm somewhat exhausted from work, so maybe I'm just missing something here...

They found a galaxy 30,000,000,000 light years away. 30 billion. We're seeing it as it was 13.1 billion years ago. Oh man!
Link please? That doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

I'm free for a couple of hours until this coffee shop closes, so if anyone wants to hang out with Grifen say the word. I'll even retcon my last post so she meets you before going to the crossbow store.
Seriously, I've been busy all day and just want some FEF fun times.
