Re: the arm thing

To be fair to Haspen, it isn't actually in Grifen's bio. It's something I mentally added later as both an un-universe explanation for her terrible Strength growth and a way to facilitate the event that gave her her phobia (which IS mentioned in the bio).
I just wanted to try and make him feel bad via guilt-tripping :P

Grifen blinked in confusion; the long-haired man had a very formal way of speaking and it took her a minute to understand his plan.

: "Um. Yeah, okay. I ain't exactly good at this sorta thing, but I'll do my best!"

22308
Haspen, did you seriously just make fun of the disabled? Grifen has a bad arm, which is why her STR is so low. Hard to use a normal bow when every draw causes pain :/

: "Easy there, mister. No need to get your pants in a twist. You just remember our deal, okay? I keep your wagon safe, you give me medicine for Bree."

She patted one of the horses, which walked alongside the wagon somewhat listlessly, and then tested the draw of her bow. As she did so, her left arm twinged painfully. One of those days, then.

Hmm. That could work. It could be a quest to earn her last name, even :P

22311
Now I just need a plausible reason for Grifen to be so far away from home with a bunch of strangers.

If the scale is being worked on, maybe it's the scale that's bad?
Boy, that'd be nice. The truck stop employee says its being "calibrated", so who knows? I'm just really hoping that I can finally get a move on. This load is already going to be late and there's not a thing I can do on that front, except get there as soon as possible.

22313
This is fucking ridiculous.

I have scaled this load multiple times. Each time, it comes up overweight. Each time, I have to travel 15 miles back the way I came to get it re-loaded (as the driver of an overloaded truck faces heavy fines if caught). Each time, I then drive back to the scale to try again, hoping that the warehouse people got it right this time. This time, the scale is being worked on and the next scale is two hours away.

Oh, and I'm not getting paid for any of this. Fuck.

THAT'S THE ONE I WAS TALKING ABOUT.

Gregor fought down the urge to glare at Edwin for interrupting. Instead he gave Charlotte a quick kiss before regretfully getting back to business.

: "There you are, Edwin. I lost track of you during that mess...anyway, no trouble right now. We found a coded message that gave me some trouble, but it looks like Mia took care of it. Now we just need to figure out what to do next."

This is probably the most year-jerking thing ever. Even the cow story was depressing.

EDIT: Oh god, the story right after that. I think I have to stop reading for now ;___;
