Gregor sighed.

: "When Charlotte, Alexander, Anja and I were first trying to escape from Menelea, this maniac had his mages blow up a bridge to prevent us from crossing the border into Berebia. He then had his men charge us, only to retreat when Mannan's pegasus riders showed up. I think he was actually the first one to flee, and now I guess he blames me for some reason."

The major expansion looks like it will be a standalone, Xcom Enemy Within. It's the thing I saw on Jake's laptop earlier this year it appears. It looks like it will drop at Christmas or maybe even a little sooner.

And now it's going back to an expansion for the PC version and a standalone for consoles. Quite jerking my chain, Jake! http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/08/21/xcom-enemy-within-is-an-expansion-out-15th-november/#more-165561
Okay, augmenting your soldiers sounds pretty cool. Hopefully there will plenty of bits to choose from, and hopefully there will be more than just a single new enemy.

General Discussion / Re: I like anime, do you like anime?

Seriously love the design on the Titans. Dumpy and Manic are surprisingly scary when put together, and adding in how happy they look when going about their rampaging business... I don't think I've ever seen a truly scary giant in fiction, but them teeth!
Not exactly fiction but Goya's Saturn Devouring His Son unnerved me when I first saw it. There is even a reference to it in one of the end cards (episode 14). Appropriate given that Cronus/Saturn is a Titan.
Okay, that? That's way more disturbing than the anime. Holy crap .____.

Cuz they ran forward to kill stuff cuz they're bloodthirsty and stuff :p

I believe Xan or Culise had some pertinent remarks on the subject.

Wait, didn't the Russians and Chinese work together? I seem to remember the Chinese Jaeger tossing one of the kaiju towards the Russian one. And the Australian team wanted to help sooner but kept getting told to hold back. So teamwork wasn't a problem in that instance, it was overconfidence and inflexibility on Command's part that was to blame.

I'm looking forward to seeing how my "old friend" responds :P

Those ship tiles are looking better and better. Great work!

Hey Haspen, got a question about the technology level of the setting (and therefore, what will be available in shops). Will crossbows be
 A: rare
 B: semi-rare
 C: common, or
 D: abundant?

Now I want to see Pacific Rim again just to look for a "footstep breaks phonebooth" scene :P

Plus, you know, it's a fun movie. Which is always a good reason to see it again.

Regarding Attack on Titan stuff:

d. Homage to the "Eva takes its first step and a telephone booth shatters" scene
Hell yeah! I knew that couldn't just be my imagination, but even TVTropes seems to have missed that one. It's almost frame-for-frame perfect.

In unrelated happy news, today was unquestionably a good day. Got a nice early start on work, which is the only reason I'm posting at 7:30 in the evening instead of after midnight. Had a delicious turkey burger on a whole-wheat bun, with lettuce, onions, cheddar cheese, and some sort of chipotle sauce that gave everything just enough kick to be tasty without burning my tastebuds. Drove through some really awesome thunderstorms, which at two different points actually forced me to turn the wipers on full-tilt and still not keep up. Counted 12 clear, really amazing (and nearby) lightning bolts, the vast majority taking place directly in front of me for an impressive view. Improved at this strange and wonderful ability to shift gears without working the clutch. And now my work day is done at a decent hour and I can kick back until the morning.

Good day. Way better than the last few by a long shot.

Gregor looked with some surprise at the shouting man.

: "Wait...you're that maniac that blew up the bridge, right? What was your name again...Wide-end? I'm pretty sure it started with a W..."

: "Anyway, I didn't 'steal' anything, your honor included. Pretty sure you lost that yourself when you turned to pillage and plunder like some common bandit."

Use Elixir on Valor, stay put to provide sweet DEF bonuses. Bemoan the absence of a simple vulnerary in inventory.

Hell yes. I couldn't get on board the last one due to lack of money, but I might just have to sink some money into them this time.

22812
I can see that!
Hmm, what should I have Gregor do? He's out of Javelin range for the horsemen, so maybe he could go after one of the wyvern riders. Or maybe he should sit tight? Fuck, this is a tough one :/

I haven't moved either, assuming I'm still alive. Haven't read the IC thread yet but it sounds like a lot happened :o

"Nobody thinks carbon is sexy."

OBJECTION!  I've known some damn sexy people, and unless they're secretly space aliens they're all made of carbon.

Plus nanotubes and stuff. Sexy in a different way.
