Yup. "Think of the children" has pretty consistently been a major rallying call for people trying to (and occasionally succeeding) utterly fuck over any right to privacy anyone once had, as well as wedge one for prying open legal protections against censorship. Even (sometimes especially) when the shit they're trying to pull would have absolutely zero effect on the rate of child predation.

Gets hard t'try to keep the laws from going dystopian when the ones pushing 'em that way have a way to turn off most of the population's brains with a single sentence :-\
Hold the phone, Frumple. The phrase "Think of the children" has historically been used to mean "we can't let our children be exposed to X because of Y". In this case, "think of the children" means "Let's stop enabling the sexual abuse of children". Entirely different things and I'm all for the second one.

Stuck in Almost-Nowhere, Nevada until tomorrow. I'd call it Nowhere if we didn't pass through half a dozen places that were even more nowhere than this place.

Oh well. At least this place has free wifi unlike 90% of the other places I've been.

Sure, I want to play Starbound too, but in my point of view it will be ready when its ready and not a moment sooner. Then again, I'm very busy and in all likelyhood will not be able to play it the day of release. Maybe not even the week of release. Worst case scenario not even the same month. One day it will be out and I'll have the Internet access to download it, but until then there's no point in worrying imho.
I'd imagine the ones most worked up about it are those who have paid for it already.

Minor nitpick, but I have in fact paid for it. I'm just not getting up in arms over the delays, unlike certain people whose names I won't mention.

I'm surprised people are getting so worked up over this. You've got nothing better to do, nothing else to anticipate? Just this one indie game?

Sure, I want to play Starbound too, but in my point of view it will be ready when its ready and not a moment sooner. Then again, I'm very busy and in all likelyhood will not be able to play it the day of release. Maybe not even the week of release. Worst case scenario not even the same month. One day it will be out and I'll have the Internet access to download it, but until then there's no point in worrying imho.
