Er, no thanks. The damage, though extensive, has been done and I don't want to kill the things. Once the young krakens pass into their adolescent stage, the adults will calm down and their training will take over again, allowing me to control them once again as a defensive force. It's just that parental instincts are strong enough to temporarily override the training.

Just need to find a new homeworld to settle. Thankfully I managed to keep all of my blueprints and the most loyal of my minions.

DAMN IT ALL TO THE DARKEST PITS OF HELL.

Remember those Void Krakens I mentioned way long ago, how they will attack and destroy anything that strays near their nesting grounds?

Well, I was experimenting with a planetary emergency teleportation system on my homeworld, thinking that in the event of an attack I cannot fend off I could activate it and appear virtually anywhere else in the known multiverse at random, enabling me to start over or at least fortify.

Guess where the test activation drops me and my entire homeworld? Dead center of the nesting grounds. I barely got a tenth of my evacuation fleet off-world before the whole damn planet was ripped apart. Mantra Void Krakens, especially mothers protecting their young, do not fuck around.

Moral of the story: Do not test emergency teleport systems without including very specific coordinates of where not to go.

Pretty sure I know which game you're talking about, Solifuge...nevertheless, could we please have the name for the sake of thread rules?

I could be wrong, but I don't think we have perfect lenses yet. And I don't think there's any such thing as a "perfect vacuum", thanks to those pesky neutrinos that love to fly through miles of solid material before colliding with a lucky subatomic particle.

I COMMAND YOU TO RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE AND RESCUE MY DAUGHTER

Turns out that yes, I will need some sort of mobile Internet access if I want to stay connected with my laptop. One option I found is something called PDANet+, an app for Android smartphones that allow you to tether your phone without monthly charges. The free version has some pretty harsh bandwidth limits, but apparently the full version has no limits and is a one-time purchase. I'm actually using the free version right now, and while the speed is limited by the strength of your cell reception it really isn't that bad at the moment. Has anyone heard of this? Is it legal, and perhaps most importantly is it something I should invest money in?

You guts have violent dreams. Mine are so insignificant and hard to remember that I may as well not have them.
Mine are typically only violent when I'm depressed about something, and typically involve me getting hurt/killed as a direct result of that something. The rest of the time they're pretty nonsensical.

Namco is nerd-blowing my mind right about now, with a near-simultaneous announcement of a new Ace Combat game and an Andrew Hussie dating sim (?!).
People seem to be equal amounts terrified, confused, and excited by the dating sim.
I'm in all three camps.

A whole day wasted thanks to a malfunctioning trailer. Trying to drive it could result in a several-hundred dollar fine, so it has to stay in the shop being repaired. Can't get a new one because this one is already loaded.

Plus I've given up hope of seeing Pacific Rim in theaters. Four days in a row now, events keep conspiring to prevent me from reaching a cinema on time, if at all, so I'll just have to wait for DVD and miss the awesomeness of the full experience  :'(

After double-checking my sources, it appears that it is indeed a false rumor. Still, considering the sheer number of stealth features added, as well as fake features being announced (remember the fake Zombiemancer update?), it pays to check out all rumors regardless of how crazy they sound.

huh, I found A Cthulhu level artifact in one of the caves I was digging, name is "materialist of iron" Any clue what it does?
Lucky you! That's apparently one of the rare Advanced Jobs artifacts added in one of the patches. The devs were very sneaky about the whole thing, so not many know about them. With a sufficient sacrifice, it unlocks an entirely new class for you to use. I believe the going rate for these artifacts is well over 50k pinecones.

Forgot to mention, the cooks in question MUST be given sufficient time at the third location to recover from any jet lag induced by the trip and be given a thorough physical examination to ensure that they aren't sick before the challenge can begin.

I think that's only been done with coke and pepsi. Mind you, a blind testing junk food extravaganza might be cool. Time to prove what is the best junk food, ONCE AND FOR ALL!
Here's what I was thinking:

The best Dominos cook in the States and the best Dominos cook in Europe are flown to a third location. Say, Africa. They choose a pizza that is easily available in both regions; nothing region-specific like a hypothetical French pizza with escargot. Ingredients are then flown in from each location, taken from those cooks' normal suppliers, along with water drawn from their local source. If at all possible, I'd also arrange to have large quantities of local air be compressed and used to fill the kitchen while the pizza cooks for even more authenticity. These pizzas would be prepared and cooked the same way any other pizza from those locations would be, and then an independent third party would arrange double-blind taste tests (while the pizzas are still hot out of the oven) with locals, celebrities, maybe even each of the cooks. Finally, the results would be unveiled and we'd have a solid case as to which continent has better pizza.

Yes, I likely put too much thought into this. :P

Oh. I thought there was an actual study on it, with double-blind testing and stuff. My bad.
