Sam threw a shocked look in Martyn's direction.

: "You...you're not considering this, are you? We have a plan to free our home! We haven't even talked to Yarun's father yet to see how things are going! And you're going to...to...mutilate yourself on some vague throw of the dice?"

Sam reflexively grabbed Martyn's hand.

: "That's horrible! Even assuming we believe what you say, couldn't we just pay you with gold or something?"

You can toggle off some buildings. Not all of them, and in fact it seems almost arbitrary which ones can be paused and which ones can't.

This may not be a popular opinion, but I'd love to see some overhaul on the workshop buildings. They're huge, they take a ton of workers and resources, and once you've researched everything they can't be demolished or toggled, and just sit around looking pretty and being useless. You almost want the undead to infest them, just to free up some workers and energy.

If they provided some sort of passive bonuses to the overall colony, then it might be different. As it is, I hate how the nature of the game forces you to waste so much on buildings that remain useful for all of about ten-twenty minutes and become nothing but resource drains afterwards.

Sam stared suspiciously at the old witch. She wasn't sure she liked this at all.

The bard nodded, and followed along. Maybe it was just paranoia talking, but she wasn't about to let her leader walk into an unasked-for meeting with a stranger alone.

Sam laughed, feeling somewhat embarrassed. She had a feeling she knew what Martyn meant about Esther.

: "While that's probably a good idea, I have no idea what sort of tome Esther would find useful. Other than a dark one, I guess. Do you know a lot about tomes?"

Dino-what? These are clearly dragon bones.

With that said, I'm fine with displaying them in a temple somewhere. Dragons might not be our friends, but they aren't our enemies either. A bit of veneration couldn't hurt relations.

Well, I just noticed something bizarre: while ElonaC.exe is running, NumLock is completely disabled.

Sam shrugged helplessly.

: "Marty, I don't even know for sure how I got this magic in the first place, and the Izzarran Mage's Guild isn't exactly in operation anymore. Maybe there's a scholar somewhere on the continent that'd know, but we don't exactly have time to go hunting for one."

: "I will take it easy on the drumming, though. I've been more into singing lately anyway; it feels a little more powerful than just playing instruments, but that might just be in my head. Unless you noticed anything?"

Just let them work it out themselves.

Jeez, death knows how to hurt you. I left my home to dump some trash in a random tile of field. While there, I found a curaria herb! I tried to eat it, but my overweight backpack caused a tiny amount of damage and interrupted me. I dropped some heavy weapons I was in the process of identifying, then tried again. I was interrupted again, but this time it was a "cupid of love" shooting me for more than half my HP. I desperately tried to fight back, and my pet and I nearly had it before it killed me.

When I wake up at home, not only is the curaria gone, but so is the miracle-quality halberd that I most certainly did not drop, which I was also in the process of identifying.

I have neither Domination nor a monster ball. Well, I have a monster ball but it's in my house. I die way too often to carry around something like that.

Well, moot point now. Accidentally killed the baby while trying to move past it. I was hoping to merely displace the fella :<

Okay, here's a new question: is polymorphing in Elona? I'm not certain, but from the way this "fire@dragon child" is following me around I think my little girl got transformed somehow.

ETA: Wait, no, there she is. So why is a baby dragon following me around? Can I tame it somehow?
