he sat and prepared to tug at the bolt lodged in his heart.

Wait, what?
Yeah, I'm pretty sure Olison would be dead from that, not walking around and getting into fights :P

27287
Well, damn. Here's hoping the cops didn't set it on fire. Not that I think they would, especially since that would require getting close to the maniac with the suicide vest.

27288
"Yes. And I believe your name is Gregor, correct? I hope you don't think ill of me. We are both mercenaries, but I am not cut from the same cloth as Adrien."

: "It's funny, you know. I used to read adventure stories about mercenaries when I was younger. Full of selfless heroism, chivalry, stuff like that. I always wanted to be one of them."

He let out a wry chuckle.

: "You seem like a decent sort, especially compared to that maniac, but I think the reality is starting to set in."

: "Feel free to stay if you like. I'd rather be far away when I talk about this. It only concerns me, Gregor and someone else I cannot mention."

: "Lead the way, I suppose."

27289
: "Why don't we head south? I could deal with a break from these guys. Besides, I have something I'd like to talk about in confidentiality."
This piqued Gregor's interest, but he decided to say nothing until they could get a good distance away.

A lot of sewer design depends on local climate, especially flood risk, about as much as it does population. Smalltown USA, if it sits in a flood-prone area, will likely have massive sewer systems to accommodate the drainage. A city perched on a mountaintop, on the other hand, could do with far less.

27291
"Probably all the corpses. Do you mind if I walk with you, soldier?"

: "I suppose not. Valor, isn't it?"

27292
: "And Gregor, you tirelessly complain about my own amorality, yet fail to look at what your liege is doing as well as the behavior of some of your comrades. I doubt you have any sort of moral high ground to judge people from." he said, focussing back on searching the carcass for the stone.

: "That's rich, coming from you..."

Gregor began to stagger away.

: "I need some fresh air; something about this place turns my stomach. Let me know before you run off to torch any homes."

27293
Yeah, no kidding.

27294
You know, this is the sort of thing we could usually avoid by listening (to me).
Aren't you the one that wants to burn down the house?  Do you know how hard it is to find a single ash-covered rock of indeterminate size in a noble manor's worth of ash, debris, and detritus?  :P
Better and not as painful as being stabbed would be, even if it would take longer.
So, what would you do with the servants, family, and household guards that the manor would likely house?

27295
What thing?

27296
I dunno if I'd call it wrong, per se. I just sort of winged mine, but I'm sure others have meticulously calculated how they'd like their stats to end up :P

Dude might have a smartphone. Smartphones can access Twitter and download maps. Put 2 and 2 together, and you get...

If the dude has a smartphone and is using it... shouldn't they know where he is? Or at least have SOME idea?
Pretty sure they have SOME idea. Not sure just how accurate the tracking on those things is.

I'm calling it now that the archer girl has the stone.

Nah, why would the archer girl carry the prized artifact? It's not like Eor thought he would lose his village or militia or something.

Or unless keeping the stone safe was the archer girl's job in the first place.
Unless the archer girl was...Eor's daughter/granddaughter! *DUN DUN DUUUUUN*

"We're not being paid for arson, unless I'm much mistaken."

: "This has nothing to do with getting paid! We're not bandits!"

He turns to Adrien, angry but still weak.

: "This mission has already gone horribly wrong from killing the militia, and now you want to burn down buildings?"

27300
: "Um. Why would we need pitch? You aren't planning on setting buildings on fire, are you?"
